December 5, 20205 yr Hermes gets a bad rep but our local drivers are really good, they always pop a note through the door and either use a neighbour or leave round the back. Had an argument with a DX driver a while back as he knocked on the door like a fucking bailiff and rang the bell twice, despite there being a sign on the door to leave with a neighbour or round the back. The missus was working nights so the door and the dog barking didn't go down well. He said it was policy that he had to try and deliver in person regardless. Only fucking time anyone ever has when it didn't require a signature. Tit.

Of course but this didn't, that was what was annoying. It wasn't even something expensive, an Amazon driver would have just launched it over the back gate.

Consignment not being ready for collection, but they told cust it will be dispatched THAT day etc... This. Absolutely this. That was Mrs Manc’s previous role with Hermes. Let’s take a random company. Nike for example. * Disclaimer here. No experience with them. Not one of Mrs Manc’s accounts. Not saying they are shit. Don’t know which logistics company they use. Only chose them cos my Nike trainers are on the floor in front of me They might book 20 trailers per day to ship their stuff out to the logistic company’s hub. Probably in the Cov area. That then gets shipped out to the local depots and then picked and sent to happy customer at home COVID hits and they increase that to 40 so that they can still hit their next day delivery promise or whatever they are advertising Xmas approaches and nobody within Nike (*same disclaimer still applies) thinks to book more trailers. They have stock waiting, logistics company can’t provide more trailers because other companies have foreseen the problem and booked all the trailers out, customer doesn’t get the promised delivery, and Facebook, Twitter, etc set alight blaming the couriers including Nike (*disclaimer) That was Mrs Manc’s previous life. She’s now moved to dealing with Chinese and US inbound. Fuuuucking hell. Swap trailers for containers 😂

They could be in the back yard/garden, bed or shower. Last thing we want to do is to come back the next day because some one was fast asleep or putting the bins out.

I get that, but they can, and do, leave with a neighbour or punt it over the unlocked back gate. He simply couldn't be arsed reading the A4 sized notice on the door. Only happened the once in the 4 years she has been working nights so something tells me he was special.

If there's a note then I can't understand why your chap didn't do what was requested. Unless it was a flat pack wardrobe, or something else equally heavy and cumbersome. Even I would give it some thought about humping that to a neighbour after I have just trudged it up your path.

December 5, 20205 yr Amazon couriers tend to just leave stuff on the doorstep without knocking or ringing the bell, always pissing it down too leaving the box a soggy mess

I said, I'm good but I'm not that good were I can dodge the rain drops between my vehicle and your front door. She didn't see the funny side. Miserable cow.

December 5, 20205 yr I'm BL6 Hermes chaps always moaning Throws em over the fence, in the black bin rather than the cardboard one, and if I'm in throws them at me when I open the door, pity you can't pick your couriers when you order DPD tracking is the best UPS chap is always good, done this area for ages but don't much from them Royal Mail can be great or shite, pot luck

Yes but you get most couriers imposed on you with no choice What fucks me off is if i buy something from the states or wherever then find out i can't have it till i pay some fee that equates to 30 percent of the fee

UPS chap is a terrific lad. Plastic scouser from Wigan. Next time you see him ask him if he's got any choc ices or 99s on his van. Private joke about his vehicle (looks like an ice cream van). Parcel Force bloke always wears shorts and a short sleeved shirt, no matter what the weather is. Knows every street. Customer name and house name in BL6. He's like rain man. Helped me out plenty of times. DPD driver, I don't know. Seems to be a different one every 6 months. Edited December 5, 20205 yr by Underpants
December 5, 20205 yr If you’re worried about having stuff delivered to your house then ask the seller Fred Perry. I asked them. They said DPD and suggested I download the app. Fucking brilliant. Never a problem. Amazon - always find out who it is - normally Parcelforce - never a problem If your seller won’t or can’t tell you then it’s your risk. They are going for the cheapest option Folk want everything for nowt and then grumble. If you want guaranteed delivery then pay for it. Don’t select the free delivery option and then expect a minimum wage worker to lay rose petals on your driveway as they deliver your Fistmaster

We used to send Royal Mail but the cost and them only covering what we paid for it rather than what the buyer bought it for when it got lost put us off.
December 6, 20205 yr Ive used tnt for work and i reckon 95% of jobs have no issues 3 or 4 might fail to hit if its a pre 9 or 12, but generally the service is very good I dropped one parcel off at the rammy depot at 7.45, it was in eastbourne at 8.30 in the morning for 8 quid They did let me down on a 3 parcel shipment to brisbane, where one of the 3 got lost between rammy and aus, yet it was scanned all the way there
