I kinda agree because although he is calling on his allies and the public to support suppressing Wagner by appealing to nationalism, he hasn't answered Prigozhin's questions about the real reasons for invading Ukraine or the lack of support for troops on the ground. A lot more Russians will be wondering if Prigozhin is right. If large chunks of the Russian army agree with Prigozhin, Putin is in big trouble.

I'd imagine Putin and the Russian state has the capacity to bring the "coup" to an end fairly quickly but can't really risk the political costs of a civil war on Russian soil

Maybe a bit of a dip, but I can see the markets holding fire. If, as an American chap has just said, this is the start of the end of the Ukraine war, then it may be seen as a positive. Russia is fucked economically any road, but if Ukraine can get its exports freed up then things should start looking up.
