Your last line shouldn’t that be enough to get you worried? out of interest if we got relegated would you still be in the “give him time camp” playing in the national league?

No, absolutely not. Relegation to N.L is not on at all.

As it happens, I think we’ve got 3 stinkers of games coming up we could really do without but after that, John & Lee will hopefully be fit. Evatt is hopeful of 2 more experienced heads - surely to play rather than squad members. That is more than 1/3 of a new team. They have to hit the ground running.

I do believe we’ll get a bit too close to the bottom 2 for comfort, we are already there but I also think we’ll win 4 or 5 on the spin again before the season is done

We had better hope that something changes quickly because as Benny says I wouldn't fancy this lot in a relegation battle as there's a few con artists amongst them & added to that an inability to do the basics..... Its beyond scary but its sneaking up on us.

Totally agree. Never thought I’d see us sink quite this low

But where do FV draw the line and say enough they must have some target in place for him

You’d have to think it’s when we’re a certain distance from the play offs. At the minute, we could quite easily put a run of form together and we’d be in the play off spots within a matter of weeks. With how quickly the games come in this league, two wins in a row raises confidence to the extent that it becomes five in a row and the world looks much better all of a sudden.

*I will point out that I don’t necessarily mean the above is likely to happen, but the possibility is there all the same. It’s the hope that kills you

I would say that is the end of the contract they gave him 🤷🏻‍♀️

So do you think if we became in a relegation battle FV will stand by him and see another year out?

Yes

I would be interested in seeing who the experts from here think we would replace him with 🤷🏻‍♀️

I’m not a huge fan of Nixon but he had it right yesterday, the club lacks experience from top to bottom.

I believe FV and Evatt will learn together but wouldn’t do any harm getting 1 or 2 football people in to help put some structures in place. They should’ve asked Big Sam or even now Holloway to come in and help out temporarily behind the scenes. I’m not saying DOF, more sorting out a good back room team to take pressure off Evatt & Atherton having to do everything and spreading themselves too thinly

Asked the same, got nothing

Oh Mick McCarty was mentioned. FFS

Impossible question unless you know who’s available do we have compensation etc etc

but ultimately who id want means nothing as a paying customer that’s for others to make the correct choice. But if people think  he should see another year if we become involved in a relegation battle is mind blowing

And Tony Pulis! 😂

There’s some good debate on here and I hear the criticism and understand it. But I’m generally with Mounts, Dave, Casino, Horwich and Rudy on this. He should stay, he needs time.

I’m less sure on how long he gets to sort this. Definitely till the end of the season (unless we went down, god forbid). I’m inclined to say if we are not up there challenging for promotion next season by Mid-Autumn then it’s fair game think more seriously about replacing him.

The club selected an inexperienced manager and they are not gonna pot him after 24 games 🙄

People need to get a grip

Sack him today like loads of bells are saying.

Who comes in tomorrow?

Easy question

I’ve just answered that

who I want is irrelevant that’s not my job

Just for the record I don’t want him sacked tomorrow but if there’s no serious improvement in the next 2 months then why should he see his last year out

also FV know loans won’t get repaid with very little consumer faith

In for now . We’re not going up  Got the rest of the transfer window like to give him rest of the season . But if we look like dropping out the league and he can’t get a result out of the players in feb then he has to go then

I think there is a slightly bigger issue here and the naming of a successor is just a minor diversion given whats at stake

If matters dont improve soon we face the prospect of being caught up in a relegation dog fight - FACT

And some of us doubt the players have the resilience to cope with the pressure and Evatt the ability to  turn the situation around

Therefore the relevant question is at what point do FV who would never in their most pessimistic of plans and projections had relegation as even a discussion point let alone a possibility, at what point do they press the nuclear button and look to save not only the clubs League status but potentially from a financial point of view the very  club they have bought into ?

If you and anyone else are saying blind loyalty to Evatt overrides the prospect of playing in the National League then I think you are seriously misguided

Personally I think he has about 5 winless games before the nuclear option is on the table and becomes a serious possibility

As RW says, that's not for us.

When you leave a relationship you don't know what's coming next, you pull the plug because it isn't working for whatever reason.

And as for the inexperience defence, did FV really say let's get a someone in with no experience so we can be 17th going in to Feb??, a point above a club in their first year in league football. Did they fuck.

And tbh, this debate has shown one thing, IE has divided the fans which is never gonna end well.

But again, no one has given any defence of 'why' he should be given time, only the hope it may come good.

No one had defended his tactics, man management or player acquisition. The guy needs gone ASAP.

Going off that, Its also not for you to say he should be sacked then.

He should be given time as he was given a contract for a period of time.

Go on, I’ll play.

when we have our spell in the game, I enjoy watching the football we play more than at any stage over the last 5 or 6 years. Granted, the bar is set low as we’ve been battered into submission by years of shit.

I also think we’d struggle attract a ‘decent’ manager if we sacked both Hill and Evatt after 25 games or whatever they’ve had.

Yes it is, I pay my ST, and watch the shit he serves up week in week out, so I have a voice and opinion which others may or may nooty agree with, cest la vie.

What potential other managers are out there how would I know, or what the money situation is, is just a nonsensical comeback. Like arguing with my wife.
