That's how it should be. I wish journalists would interview politicians like that. Yes or No, no other answers please.

Gonna break the internet

Not all questions have a yes or no answer.

That "colossal" question was just plain stupid.

Detracts from the other, genuinely pertinent questions.

it's a style that appeals to a lot of populists who want simple answers to complex problems.

Which will just about be the Republicans election theme. As Sir Kier would say 'country before party'.

Also what do they do for next 3 months ? He is too ill to hold a debate but well enough to run the country ? Obama seems to be very quiet.

Not sure. Though he's surrounded himself by capable people. It'll be reet.

Wouldn't be surprised at all if we hear the poor fella has a serious neurological condition when he steps down.

Do you remember in one World Cup the England players had to get as many mentions of pop songs into interviews.

I have a theory that the Tories are having a competition who can say the most ridiculous thing. I can only assume she had a punch line that has been cut

It's a good job there are no actual Conservatives on this site.

Reform born and bred.

Populism appeals to all sorts.

Easy answers to difficult questions. Colour or creed, it matters not.

Education on the other hand.

Doesn't mean the lass wasn't lying though! 😁

The "I'd need to get back to you" answers were probably a stalling mechanism, but by answering them herself as "no" again wasn't a great look.

Would have been better probing further, or brandishing the paperwork without dropping down to the gutter with the swearing in a parliamentary setting.

We'll have to see. But I reckon Trump might be a bit lost if he needs to start talking about policy and can't just keep talking about golf or how old his opponent is. I've a feeling this might re-energise the democrats (providing they can agree on a candidate in short order). Personally I'd go for for someone left field and not KH. But we'll just have to wait and see.

Mind you - I would also like to point to my previous track record of being wrong for just about everything! 😁

As nearly always, a reasoned response.

I agree they might well get a boost from 'ditching' (read 'pushed by Pelosi' and 'shafted by Schumer') the crooked cadaver.

I wish that you hadn't said 'left' field ;)

One point to disagree on though. You were not wrong in your choice of football club to follow :hi:

I think you need to do a little more reading on the subject of KH matey.

Both you mention in this post are despicable and should be sidelined. The problem is, the left leaning media have some folk (including you it seems) brainwashed to an extent that middle of the road conservatism is labelled 'far fight'.

Utter fucking nonsense swallowed by the gullible (present company excepted of course ;) )

He's a self employed grafter. He's a conservative by nature but won't be able to admit that right at this time.

You mean to say the racist, misogynist Donald Trump managed to attract black female supporters. How did that happen?

Great point. Some of this lot ignore the most telling factor. Everyone knows who they were financially much better off under.

It's a bastard that hip pocket nerve.

When someone like Kalmara Harris is labeled a Communist you either know those who are saying it have an agenda or they haven't actually read anything of note other than a sock label for years.

Some in the States might not like Harris, which is totally reasonable if you look at some of her dealings as a DA; but if folk are swallowing she's an actual Communist, maybe they've had too many fizzy beers when concluding international business deals on the Costa Del Sol.

Righto. A reflection of the globally apparent polarisation I suppose. I think we both agree that, sooner or later, war is coming. Hopefully we will be well out of the way by then.

The fight will be over politics. The underlying cause will be global over population.

Yeah he's managed to attract quite a few. I think his approval ratings amongst black and Hispanic voters have always been high. Mainly because he offers them the world and telling them that everything is the fault of new immigrants and the 'deep state'. Which is an appealing argument to some people. Especially when they feel disenchanted.

Mind you - there's probably a fair few democrats who don't like the idea of a black female president and might switch sides accordingly.

I always think these things play out in a way that it's very difficult to predict. Be really interesting.

You've basically now got 1 (and soon to be 2, fairly eloquent leaders on one side who believe in the rule of law on one side, and two populist firebrands on the other who I'd argue could end up being insurrectionists). Be fascinating to see how this plays out but the potential stakes are massive.

There's a significant part of me (albeit small) that thinks the US might be voting it's way into a quasi dictatorship if Trump gets in again.

For example - I could see him trying to overturn the 22nd amendment which says presidents can only ever serve two terms. Putin is essentially his role model. I think we live in extremely dangerous times for democracy.

But then I do have a tendency to overthink these things......

Surely that’s a good one? How many other jobs do you get told you have to leave after serving a relatively short time? Especially if you had been doing an amazing job.

The US is caving in and imploding.

There will be civil war before we think.

What, obese MAGA nutjobs versus the US Military?

Because 2 terms might not be enough time to manipulate the system into allowing you to remain in power indefinitely. Which has what has happened in Russia and China.

Slightly different in the UK as we vote for a party rather than a President.
