I don’t think it gets even warm on the islands, but that won’t bother me, not one for lying about in the sun.  Some folk visit The Polish concentration camps, the northern lights etc, id prefer to see the Falklands.  I’ve been watching plenty of programmes on YouTube about 1982, it’s whetted the appetite.

I must admit, it's not for me, but then neither is trudging around old concentration camps - I generally prefer to be warm when I go away, or if it's a place that isn't warm, at least have something to do with my time. My worry about The Falklands, and as mentioned further up, is that it's just so massively dull and there is absolutely nothing to do apart from look at penguins.

The thing is though, the Northern Lights are a thing of natural beauty and the Polish concentration camps are a shocking reminder of how evil the world can be, so are steeped in history and it is vital that they are visited and remain there permanently.

Without being disrespectful to our Armed Forces who fought and died to keep a British flag on the Falklands, who really gives a fuck if they our ours or the Argies'?

If it was warm and there was a nice beach and a decent strip of clubs and pubs then I'd be almost tempted to go, but as it'd be akin to taking 15 hours to get to a colder version of Belmont just so I can wave a flag and shout "Rule Brittania", it'd all seem like a bit of a waste of time and money.

Still, each to their own.

And Penguins are only about £1 a pack at Home Bargains.

Also said one of the most prevalent crimes on there is incest. Fuck all else to do, apparently.

Even Kazakhstan has table tennis, drinking horse piss and disco dancing to go with incestuous rapes as pastimes.

I worked with a bloke who took an amazing trip, and I think it's the only way you'd get me there but you can do a Falklands/South Georgia and include Antartica in a sort of cruise/exploration trip. You get to visit the Weddell Sea and places where Shackleton was.

Now that looks decent. But being stuck on the Falkands after travelling all that way? It would seem like a bit of a waste.

I wanted to go to Bariloche to see if I can find any Nazi gold. They don’t take kindly to  the British though apparently

Does this mean you won’t be sorting him a package tour ?

Course I will, just letting him know it's not going to be cheap.

I shall be raising a glass on your finest Carling tonight with a big bowl of trifle listening to send the buggers back on LP.

Alf Garnet on just before bed.

Well it seems you’re not a True Englishman unless you are doing it in Gibraltar, with all the locals who are of course Proper Patriots. In Spain, like, obvs

Proper Patriot here, moaning that St George’s Day isn’t celebrated, and he presumably did the sum total of fuck all to celebrate it. What’s stopping him organising something, like a Proper Patriot would?

For those out celebrating it.

What are you out celebrating, what does today mean and mean to you?

It's a great question. I'd say it gives folk the opportunity to stick out their chest and take pride in a mythical Turkish bloke on a mythical horse twatting a mythical creature.

Probably the same folk who mock the Q'ran for being about a mythical deity but not the bible for exactly the same.

A strange world

But the same people turning their noses up at those celebrating will be walking round with Guinness hats on on st Patrick’s day.

a strange world indeed Michael
