Lets get Bolton in Bolton again and an atmosphere.[/quote I agree but its not going to happen...........unless theres oil under the reebok. unreserved seating would help bit like standing up but they like to know who's sitting wherte
Guest Uncle_Northy Posted November 28, 2004 Posted November 28, 2004 Who else thinks its a pile of w??nk in a good for nothing suburb of Bolton??? Lets get Bolton in Bolton again and an atmosphere. Agreed jay......lets get the fcuk out of horwich
frank_spencer Posted November 28, 2004 Posted November 28, 2004 probably one of the best stadiums in the country. the atmosphere this season is alot better than previous at the reebok! if emerson (the land owners of middlebrook) get their arse in gear and get a new entrance/exit road built then it should be alot better acess than now!
stekbwfc Posted November 28, 2004 Posted November 28, 2004 The atmosphere is never going to be better than burnden
Mr Softee Posted November 28, 2004 Posted November 28, 2004 Trouble is there's nowhere to put another road. I like it cos I can walk it, but that's being biased.
Guest Uncle_Northy Posted November 28, 2004 Posted November 28, 2004 The atmosphere is never going to be better than burnden well said that man
Casino Posted November 28, 2004 Posted November 28, 2004 cos it was never, ever, like a morgue at burnden was it ps nobody would like a ground in town more than me, but get the rose tinteds off
frank_spencer Posted November 28, 2004 Posted November 28, 2004 the main problem is we don't have a kop/Kippax/Stretford End thats the kind of thing that gives atmosphere. it's getting better but theres always something special about small grounds
HomerJay Posted November 28, 2004 Posted November 28, 2004 wish people would stop moaning about the fuckin stadium, it aint gonna change... fans make an atmosphere not a stadium!
Guest Posted November 29, 2004 Posted November 29, 2004 i dont think its the stadium, i think its the stewards that are spoiling the atmosphere. but in saying that i do miss burnden :-({|= :-({|=

mickbrown Posted November 29, 2004 Posted November 29, 2004 I have mixed feelings on this. I loved Burnden because of the history of the place, but in the end it was falling down, it stank and if you were daft enough to go to the bogs you ended up paddling in other people's piss. I'm still scarred from that New Years day match when I had to have a dump. The Reebok is a piece of piss for me to get to with it being near the motorway - I come from Manchester - I set off at 1.55 on Saturday and by 2.10 I was parked up and at the Bromilow Arms.
HomerJay Posted November 29, 2004 Posted November 29, 2004 bruno, laville, youri, okocha, campo, hierro, stelios diouf at burnden? somehow, i think not...
Mr Softee Posted November 29, 2004 Posted November 29, 2004 I wouldn't trust Bolton Council with another road into Middlebrook anyway. They've just cocked up the road widening as they have put in a left only lane that gets cut across with people going straight on. Wasted more of our Council Tax doing that one. I think they may have realised their error as they have coned it off again. There was nothing wrong as it was before as it never got busy on that stretch anyway.
SatanGreavsie Posted November 29, 2004 Posted November 29, 2004 I'm still scarred from that New Years day match when I had to have a dump Feck me - that says it all - when someone who's shovelled shit out of a bath thinks somewhere's bad then it must have been bad! For once I agree with Casino - for every great atmosphere at Burnden there were umpteen morgues. Apart from the odd game such as Wolves, Preston, Swindon and maybe one or two more, nowt at Burnden came anywhere near touching the atmosphere of games in the late 70s when we got into the old first. 35,000 for the Liverpool night match with a full Embankment, 10k scousers and chaos reigning...them were the days

I do some work for that section of the council and you wouldn't believe the ammount of grief they've got over that job! good thing its got fook all to do with me otherwise id have to moan to myself!! hehe
LatinoHeat Posted November 29, 2004 Posted November 29, 2004 a few months before they plant a load of trees in the grass in the middle of the road and then they decide to put another lane in so plantin some of them trees a big waste of time! it will be good wen that world cup sculpture thingy is up as theyr puttin famous ppls faces in so u will have kids runnin thru 3 lanes of traffic accross the motorway to go have a look and the graffiti artists will be comin out in force
frank_spencer Posted November 29, 2004 Posted November 29, 2004 workin for the council you realise that there is no communication between the different departments! fookin bag o shite!

There was nothing wrong as it was before as it never got busy on that stretch anyway. http://www.thisislancashire.co.uk/lancashi...LETTERS0ZM.html A few extracts from a letter from Cllr Barbara Ronson from the BEN. Seems the scheme was funded largely by an EU grant. The work involves a third lane to De Havilland Way in Horwich and re-surfacing of the other two lanes. It is part of a long term plan for the Bolton Economic Development Zone which covers the Horwich, Lostock and Wingates areas. This plan looks at the whole future of the area as a place of employment, leisure and business growth. The extra lane will help in the regeneration of the area and support local companies. ....in recent years the area has seen the building of Middlebrook, the Reebok Stadium, Bolton Arena, Parklands, Horwich Parkway railway station and many other developments. Traffic levels will continue to increase as a result of planned development and we need to improve the provision for public and private transport. There has been landscaping in the area and the planting of new trees anticipated the need for an additional lane. All the new trees will remain in place. .... the money being spent on the link road cannot be used elsewhere. It is part of a specific European grant for that area and cannot be used on other projects, however great the need. There is a time limit in which that money can be spent which is why the work needs to be carried out now. Councillor Barbara Ronson Leader of the Council
Mr Softee Posted November 29, 2004 Posted November 29, 2004 They put the extra lane on the wrong side of the road. #-o . The trees must now be invisible ones.
Horwich Posted November 29, 2004 Posted November 29, 2004 STAND UP AT THE REEBOK. They let united fans do it once a season, if 1000 people stood up they aint gonna chuck everyone out. its only when a few stand up the tart to wade in.
Mounts Kipper Posted November 29, 2004 Posted November 29, 2004 i think the only way we would get a good atmosphere at the reebok would be to rip the seats out of the north stand lower and rename it the Lever end , this would then double the capacity, charge ??15 entry and ?? 7.50 for under 16s and designate this end as a singing section, failing that do as above but make it unreserved seats so you can sit where you want, with who you want, not some johny come lately who frowns when you get a bit loud.
