If the millions who attended football acted like the protestors did there would have been a lot more arrests at the footy. Those attending the footy weren’t attending a peace rally/protest. Only figures I can find from 2012/2022 says 850k ish per weekend. If I could be arsed I’d add up this weekends. But I can’t so I won’t. I do get your point though.
November 7, 20232 yr So if they are starting after 11 and going nowhere near the cenotaph and it’s not even the same day as the actual service, what’s the problem?

November 7, 20232 yr 1 minute ago, mickbrown said: I dunno. But proportionally it makes a difference if it’s a percentage of millions as opposed to 850k Depends if you want to add Scottish teams and non league teams, it will be over a million. Not quite million’s but a lot more than what marched. But as I pointed out in the bold part, how many were arrested as that’s the comparison he was making.
November 7, 20232 yr 10 minutes ago, mickbrown said: That would be silly 😃 850k attending Last season the average Premier league attendance was just over 40000. That's 400k in the prem per weekend. Therefore 850k for all leagues seems reasonable, there are also non league games, too, that require policing. How many arrests amongst all of that- not a clue.

A very weak argument in that actual attendees are markedly different. Put the differing policing approach on top of that and it's plain daft.

I was trying to be helpful😃

Nah. We can all see the level of hate being spouted at these marches, but it isn't permitted to describe it as such. Instead, it has to be blown into something bigger by the usuals. Acknowledge nothing of the bleeding obvious and look to shift focus and apportion blame elsewhere.
November 7, 20232 yr The LM show has nowt to do with Armistice Day and takes place in the City of London - just an FYI. Its also a decent day out if you have little kids.
November 7, 20232 yr What I'm seeing at these marches are people of all faiths protesting about the indiscriminate slaughter of children. I can't think of a better day to protest at the Governments refusal to call for a ceasefire fire than Armistice day. Lest we forget and all that.

It’s more to do with the police. People keep mentioning football. Why do you think the police and the FA get together to work on fixtures? Why don’t city play at home at 12 and united at 2? November 7, 20232 yr ok let the govt decide who and when can protest thin end of the wedge but, if thats the country you want to live in, crack on
