American leaders deported loads because they let loads in. As I mentioned earlier he’s stopped letting them in. You can’t deport something that’s not there

then maybe he will get to work on the 11 million undocumented immigrants currently in the US at some point

now that woudl be something the previous presidents didn't manage to achieve, and would be worthy of a mention of his unique acheivements

thank you for bringing such compelling points to this table of discussion

I can see why you respect him so much

it's just waffle with little substance

like peas in a pod you two

Yep. I was hoping to keep it quiet.

Mary Anne couldn't cope with two of us and I drew the short straw.

I just don't understand where this idea that he's a master politician on the world stage comes from

Go on. Point out who and where this was said on here.

It was a couple of hours ago, and your attention span is famously dogshit:

Of course and that does seem to be what he’s working on. However it’s completely different to what I initially praised him on.

How long has Trump been in power, compared to Obama?

I wonder how many illegals came in during the latter's time in office, compared to how many will come in during Trump's.

Reckon I'll wait until Trump has had his time, and compare them then.

As for beyond America, he seems to have been instrumental in resolving two conflicts.

We all know he's an arse, and all the criticisms chucked at him may be fully justified.

That doesn't mean he isn't worthy of praise when he does something positive.

All this one-eyed view, and the "like what" type questions just smack of bitterness: a concern that he may have actually achieved something.

A bit like a successful manager in football- SAF. Wasn't always a pleasant man: angry, rude, etc, but bloody successful.

OK Trump will not achieve the comparative success- few, if any will- but his arrival on the stage has rattled a few cages, and certainly got plenty out of the comfort zone of the Davos type environment, and more into the real world.

Absolutely vital for us in Europe, in getting our own defense in order.

The one thing which is obvious is that whatever the big man achieves it will be downplayed by the haters.

I think everyone already understands this. Especially by those who elected him.

ok, great, so as I thought, unlike RW, when you talked about him mangaging "to do things others can't", you weren't talking about immigration

great, let's move on to things he's managed to do, that others can't

hopefuly we don't go off on some other tangent this time

Don't be silly. The haters will redouble their efforts along the paedo route.

Waste of time and energy but it makes them feel good.

Given that you consider Palestinians as terrorists, you seem to be celebrating the fact that “the big man” has let over a thousand of them get released back into the wild this week.

In exchange for 20 people who were at the Israeli version of Glastonbury.

Nobody thought this was possible (except him obviously)
and
His influence on the world stage is second to none

Gonzo
I'm not sure you can knock his work on the world stage.

TMGJ
Yet, he seems to manage to do things others can't.  Love him or loathe him, he has certainly shaken up world politics.

and then Cheese has just quoted you twice call him a  master, though I coudln't say if that was on the world stage, or the domestic arena, so will let those two slide

and despite RWs best efforts regards immigration in the US, no one has managed to convey what it is he has done on the world stage

I even helped them out with the payments to Nato one, but that can't be all there is, surely

Clearly wasn’t. He does things others can’t. Imagine if Starmer had followed up on his promise of “smashing the gangs” then went and brokered a ceasefire in Israel. There would be statues being arranged as we speak.

Everything is doom & gloom with some folk mate. They seem to thrive on it.

So no one has used the sentence "master politician on the world stage".

Thank you for confirming. It could have been a much shorter response from you.

A quick search tells me there have been at least 7 ceasefires between Israel since 1948, this is the 4th with Hamas alone

I say at least because

It is impossible to provide an exact number of ceasefires in Israel since 1948 because there have been countless temporary truces, formal agreements, and informal understandings over more than seven decades of conflict

So what is so special about this latest ceasefire?
