Covid-19

Slow news day, or end of the world?

”Aggressive” new variant has landed in Moscow. Makes people, even those that have been vaccinated, more poorly than previous types.

Time for Uncle Joe to push the button? Short term pain.

I think I'm the only person I know who hasn't had it.

I’ve had it and possibly got it again now as I’ve been in very close contact with someone who has tested positive.

Pretty sure I’ve got it at the minute.

Feeling very lethargic, throat like glass etc..

Suspect it would be much worse but for the vaccine. So cracking on.

I've had it twice. Both times it was nothing more than a sniffle.

Second time round I tested negative 3 days after testing positive.

I just find it bizarre how it affects people so differently. I was proper scared of it at first as I'm overweight and enjoy a cig every now and then

No of course not but there's obviously a shit load of people going "I think I've got covid" so much so that the Daily Fail has to mock up an image comparing the symptoms.

I predict the next spike will coincide with the next spell of decent weather. Week off innit

Thing is, Covid for most had symptoms very similar to a bad cold or flu, especially the first couple of bad variants.

So now we are all mixing again the usual bugs are twatting us because we have had much less exposure for quite a while.

This winter is going to be hell for the NHS unfortunately and most trusts are fucked already.

Not got me or MrsD. My mum avoided it for two years until she fell and broke her hip, resulting in a stay in hospital. Caught within three days.

Are we going from "no different from the flu" to "no different than covid"?

Some folk are on the bread line socially caring goes out of the window with financial pressures

This is true, but in reality it doesn't apply to that many folk. The worst of the situation is having to stay at home for 5 days, for £99 ssp.

Of course it's a struggle for a few, but for me it's a bit reductionist and pulls the overall situation down to a small minority that doesn't represent the whole.

Yeah oddly it has. I’ve ordered another one. Loads better today. Even did some work. Wed and thurs I couldn’t get out of bed. I’m not a good poorly person at the best of times.

Folk going on holiday and travelling around the world is bound to cause huge problems, I've avoided Covid since the start, but 3 days after returning from Italy last month I got Covid, it floored me for about 4 or 5 days, aching muscles and no appetite were my main symptons, lost a couple of pounds in weight which I put on in Italy, so not all doom and gloom.

They've said she can come outside to see the lad tomorrow for a short period of time. She'll have to be in a wheelchair as she can't walk and is on constant oxygen.

Absolute shit, my uncle died of Pneumonia on Tuesday and having to deal with all this, just seems to be no end.

Plus side is I'm taking the lad to his first match tomorrow
