I've just had an email back from Cambridge to say they have booked me a parking space directly off Newmarket Road at the front of the stadium

  • Thank god someone else said it. Football fans eh ? All these lads with a compass on their tops and they can only find their way to 'spoons.    https://footballgroundguide.com/leagues/engla

If i head out drinking in Cambridge those are the pubs/areas i tend to venture as whilst the centre is ok it is usually rammed with tourists, bikes, tourists on bikes, people trying to get you on a punt and students. It can take 10 minutes longer just walking from the station to town with everyone stopping to take pictures of churches or university buildings. But they have got electric scooters you can now hire at the station and ride on the roads into town, nothing could possibly go wrong with that!

currently blocked from buying online as I don't have a membership, whatever one of those is!

logged in,

I'll have to ring them in the morning.  Had loads of issues with the website

Site has "issues" this morning but got there in the end.

I'm mates with the Cambridge manager's brother and I was offered free seats in the Directors Box with pink champagne and all that malarkey but politely turned them down. Rather be with BWFC, corporate stuff isn't my scene, I'll ask him for a parking spot though.

Really looking forward to this now as I can’t get a Wigan ticket.

Finally sorted it, had to buy over the phone.

Got a job on the way down, so that's payed for the trip.. winner winner

Another job?

Punting on the Cam

The Maypole is a decent pub for the real ale types.

I can't figure out buying online for this, just says I don't have the right membership. Is having a season ticket not fookin enough these days? I miss writing the club a nicely worded letter complete with cheque for away tickets... no, honestly.

Either way rang through and got 3 tickets. First away game since Accrington, so expectations are low 😂

Been looking at the boozers Cambridge has mentioned, a couple look bloody good for us beery types. Looks a bit of a trek to the ground so bus back afterwards.

Only other time I’ve been to Cambridge was the FA cup 20+ years ago and drove so not had a beer here

Be plenty of beers on the fun bus

Traffic past the ground comes to a complete standstill after games, traffic is a nightmare in cambridge most of the time, add in football crowds and the inevitable extinction rebellion protest on the A603 and it will be carnage. If you walk down towards the beehive or the other retail park and grab an UBER you will probably be alright though

Price update: out last night at Prince Reagent

I sincerely hope this was coming away from Tranmere a couple of years ago. If it’s a different one then you need to stop relying on her knowledge of underground stations.
