September 30, 20214 yr Might've been done before but.. Mate added me to the "Manchester Donner Connoisseurs" fb page. Loads of blokes posting and rating kebabs from alsorts of places, some funny posts and some absolute shockers amongst a few that I fancy trying. So go on.. Best kebab you've had? What's the ideal scenario, naan, pitta, flatbread? Schawarma, donner, gyros etc?

October 1, 20214 yr Had the biggest doner I’ve ever had on Saturday in Sunderland. While the chap was making them (one each, me and MrsD) we ended up telling him to take some meat off. Fucking huge!

October 1, 20214 yr Corfu a few years back quaint little village called Ermones, down on the beach little place called George’s Tavern, does an incredible gyros kebab. Deliveroo should get you for one tonight if you order now

October 1, 20214 yr Starvin Marvin's in Lancaster, the Doner meat has a kind of minty taste and feels a lot less greasy.
October 1, 20214 yr Used to like going to Caspian and Saajans ont curry mile after gigs or nights out. Caspian is gone now though and not been down there for years. Not had a really good kebab for ages, just massive average ones that get finished off in the morning.

October 1, 20214 yr Used to be a Turkish place just a bit further down from Harvey Nic’s in Manchester, no idea what it was called or if it’s even there anymore but they did a brilliant one

What's the ideal scenario, naan, pitta, flatbread? Schawarma, donner, gyros etc? Can you remember what the place was called on Oxford Road where a Spar or Tesco extra is now? Down at the Thirsty Scholar end of the road next door to Revolution. It was like a conveyor belt of kebab production in there and they were great.
October 1, 20214 yr Best I’ve had was schwarma on the beach in eilat. I’ve heard great reports about this place but not been yet. https://restaurantguru.com/Levenshulme-Bakery-Manchester-3
October 1, 20214 yr There's a really good Turkish restaurant opened up near where I live - they don't do a Donor Kebab, as they're basically just a rank collection of mushed up meat products squished together, but they do best lamb and chicken kebabs with garlic sauce on their flame grill thing. Fucking expensive at nearly £10 each, but lovely when you've got the beer munchies, and each one contains enough meat to feed a family of refugees for a week. And a nice little man on a moped delivers them to the door within about 20 minutes as well, which is nice.
October 1, 20214 yr I've lived by donner meat and chips for years During my younger stoner days I had it for tea three nights in a row, the shop owner even said I need to think about eating healthier Anyway Spotted vegan schwarma in Waitrose the other Had it for tea last night with salad, garlic mayo and chilli sauce Nicest I've had in a long time Admittedly it looks like a plate of chips but there was plenty in there
