  • And as for this tiresome bollocks about pathways in our last two tournaments, do people not realise theres a reason we got those pathways? We avoided groups of death becasue we won every single game i

  • Fuck me we lose one game without a full strength team against a team of shit houses who shithoused themselves half way through the last tournament and the knives are out. It was just one of them

  • Biggest cheers tonight were for the paper planes hitting the pitch. I’ve also learned that being close to Wembley as the crow flies means fuck all when it comes to the tube!   Anyway, 9th/10

It would be nice to have a talented and highly respectable manager like Bobby Robson again. Not sure they are allowed to develop or even exist in todays world.

Out of interest what aspects of Bobby Robson do you feel are discouraged or frowned upon in today's world?

What has Southgate achieved that is so superior to Robson?  We’ve been handed a very easy passage through the qualifiers and  we’ve been very lucky that many of the teams you’d expect to be in and around the last 8 have fallen earlier than normal, if you look at Southgate results he has numerous games against the likes of Malta, San Marino, Albania, Lithuania and the like which have bumped up his win %. I’m hoping he turns out to be the real deal but the evidence in front of my eyes tells me he isn't.

He equalled his world cup record with a semi final appearance in his 1st tournament and smashed Robson's Euros record (1 failure to qualify and 1 out at the group stage after losing every game) by getting us to a final.

Not sure that sufficiently qualifies Southgates record as smashing Robsons record, especially as we were at home in the Euros and taking into account the decisions Southgate took on the penalty takers, nor the second half and extra time performance in that match. As far as I am concerned it is not even close on who the best manager is between Robson and Southtgate.

Having the same debate on talksport just now. Some carrot cruncher just been on saying this crop of players are better than the golden generation because they are more together but that's nothing to do with Southgate but all to do with Pep and Klopp.

Even though half the bastard sqaud doesnt play for either of them.

I don't take the talksport pundits seriously, so even less so those that call in...

On another note - Wales going to the World Cup and in our group!

We have a few in our squad that could make it to Qatar if they have a bright start to the season and could be playing against the likes of Kane and Foden.

Jones, MJ, Isgrove, Sheehan, John.

I think out of those, Jones and John would be most likely to get in. Wales played with wingbacks in the Ukraine game. Doubt any of our lot would be starters but never know, a few injuries and they could get called up. Surely if Swindon's Jonny Williams can make the squad then these lads have a chance.

Southgate's done a great job. Loads of togetherness and no billy big bollocks farting up the place . The golden generation reside in the turd bowl of history. Would rather have Harry Maguire and John Stones than pricks like Rio and Terry around the squad.

all the southgate haters have is the knee

That’s a good one, not keen on Southgate means you're racist.. a different twist of racial slur, but still casual accusation of racism all the same.

being anti knee isnt racist

i read all about it on here

stop putting words in my mouth

those kids you love are racist though

It’s clear what you meant, you don’t have the bottle to call it though just hidden behind a casual slur. I shall leave it there.

Other than 1966 our record in tournaments has been sketchy at best.

Beaten semi finalists in the WC and beaten finalists in the EC is our best ever performance in successive tournaments.  Under the same manager.  Yet folk aren't sure about him?

Those kids aren't racist.  Their parents are though because that's why it was the kids who were there booing the knee instead.

No, those kids aren't racist, they just see things from a different perspective and were voicing their opinion.  Obviously a different opinion than that of their racist parents.

England v Wales is on a night we're due to be in action in the Papa John's, so it will have to be moved. They can fit the world cup game in another time.

Aye all 30,000 kids were specially selected because their parents are racists. You racist police taking it to another level.

The fact that 30,000 kids were there was due to Hungarian fans being racist.

Those kids booed the England players taking the knee - something the players and manager have said they are doing as a stand against racism.

You applaud those kids, not for being racist but for seeing things from a different perspective.

That's pretty much all I've said.  Please point out where I've misinterpreted something.

Catching up and probably repeating stuff.

Southgate's squads have looked inferior to the players at previous managers' disposal, but ha sachieved better finishing positions in major tournaments, so he muc be doing something right and he's blooding loads of younger players, so we'll end up with a bigger pool of players when they're all more experienced in a few years time.

Sounds like good planning to me.

As for Hungary, they're racist cunts who had to play behind technically closed doors for being racist cunts. Their kids who were allowed in were also being racist cunts because they've been brought up to be racist cunts by racist cunts.

If we stop taking the knee, the Hungarians would still be racist cunts.

All united players are pricks. And even though he's infinitely shitter  He's done more for his country than those 2 rotters.

There are more factors at play than just racism on the booing of the knee, you see it as just a straight forward racist gesture, that’s how you roll, just for clarity as it seems some folk on here like to pigeon hole folk, I’m against any form of racism and my contempt for taking the knee does not mean I am racist nor does it mean 30,000 kids and all their parents are racist.

Just for the record.  You're a nice bloke and I don't for one second think you're racist.

... but for a game to be played behind close doors due to consistent racism and then those that actually are allowed to go in and watch the game then boo an anti-racism gesture ... well, you've got to admit that doesn't really come across well does it?

maybe they just fear a return to marxism
