Just googled “How many homeless in UK?” And first up is this.

Quote

There were 28,882 homeless households recorded in 2021/22, up from just over 28,000 in the previous year. That accounts for 32,592 adults and 14,372 children. Your gift today will connect individuals living in poverty to the vital resources, services and opportunities needed to begin their journey to a new future

That’s around 47k.

Most of the ex forces lads I know are doing private security and love bumming trannys.

For the pandemic there was a real drive to reduce numbers

That’s ok if you were taught stuff like hand-to-hand combat. If your role was to carry a gun and shoot folk with it and it’s all you knew following basic training then private security without that gun is probably going to get you hurt.

Some of them like to have a wander over to the cathedral so they can slide down the walls

Most in the forces are just lazy cunts anyway, 95% of the time their just at the barracks paying Xbox. It's not a proper job, that's why the end up at picadilly gardens on spice.

I thought most ex forces either wrote books (well, paid ghost writers to make sense of their memories of lying in ditches and shooting goat herders)

or just did Minder jobs like Dennis Waterman

A coalition government report in 2013 said over 25,000 members of the forces were involved in the Falklands conflict. 237 died there (nearly 1%) but since then a further 1335 had died (over5%) had died since the conflict, with 95 as suicides (that's over 7% of the deaths). These figures have clearly increased further (presumably at a slower rate) in the last 9 years. Bearing in mind that a majority of the force were under 21 these figures are somewhat sobering.

Thats why most of em join the fire brigade

We have a fair few ex forces in our company as it is telecoms so most have some basic knowledge. All are top blokes in the main with the proper work ethic that is needed.

I worked with a lot of ex forces personnel and there is nobody better to have on your side when the shit hits the fan
