It is so easy only one player managed to score more than him last season! And he took and scored way more penalties than Doyle, so he was also bang average.   Doyle is a very good league 2 s

That’s fine Steejay, I expect some to disagree, just though it might be an option? Having said that can you tell me one current player who can take a throw in? 😉

Hes the only one who got a crash course in taking throw ins from senior at Cheltenham, last year

Fuckin hell mate  that leaves us with 13 players 8 of which you would only have as keep 😂

Xavier has probably played 45 mins in 4 months and you want to ship him back

OK - maybe a bit ambitious trying to do it all in one transfer window but that's the direction we need to be travelling in over the next two windows if we want to compete in L1.

I've not seen anything from Amaechi in those 45 mins so far.  He's got until Jan to show something.  If he doesn't send him back.

He played the final 13 mins of normal time, then extra time yesterday. One or two glimpses, but he was no more ineffective as the others who have been available for longer.

Dunno how you can condemn him so quickly- surely they would all have to go on that performance.

What is noticeable is that a lot of the players that are brought in have a fair amount of flair about them, but a bit of steel wouldn't go amiss.

It's a bit rich worrying about who can and can't take a throw; they can't even play football together at the moment!

For me we need to stop leaking goals so defenders are the priority, hard nosed centre half and another CDM and at least 1 more full back.

A 0-0 on Saturday would give me a wiggle

We need to start nilling teams week in week out and build from that solid base, that’s what good managers do and Evatt needs to understand that & work towards that goal.

He’s also the only one of our Central Defenders who scored!! 🤔

I remember the over-reactors writing Gardner then Okocha off after a few games, it’s unfortunately the way with some of our fans

You can add Campo to that as well.

As Mark Patterson said to me, some fans only see what a player does when they are going forward with the ball.

Agree with @Mounts Kipper we need defenders primarily. Yes, we've been over reliant on Dapo and Doyle has had his scoring drought, but our defending this season has been woeful at times.

Santos being captain means he's less droppable and Johnston is here until 2024 so we need to try and get more out of him.

Our midfield is too weak to help out the centre halves. Only MJ has any defensive wherewithal. Need MJ and another like him, then have a Sheehan or a Lee in there with them to give creativity.

And the full backs... Only Gethin Jones seems capable of doing what Evatt wants. Isgrove isn't a defender but at least he puts a shift in.

Declan John - I've lost count of all the times he's caught out of position, always so high up the pitch. Gordon has a bit more athleticism to get up and down the wing but he's suspect at the back and less quality going forward.

Forward with the ball? That’d be nice! 🤣

The John issue for me is due to the way he plays with Dapo. The latter often comes in field, leaving space put wide, which John is expected to fill.

On the right, Isgrove and Jones form a more cohesive partnership, with isgrove helping out with the defending more than Dapo does. Obviously Dapo on the other hand is a better goal threat.

I've often thought a more natural left sided midfielder of the three would help bolster the left side defensively. Which is where I reckon Thomason would be better.

Last night he was alongside Sheehan initially and replacing mj with Lee further forward.

Like to see mj in the middle Saturday, with the other two pressing and worming hard in front.

Johnston has ability, Wigan's best player in thier survival push last season. Just seems bereft of confidence.

Santos easily the best of a bad bunch last night, but the key to tightening up is not only the right personnel, but stop chopping and changing.

Santos has played with 2 different keepers, 3 right backs (if you include Isgrove) 3 cenre halves and 2 left backs.

FWIW I'd have had Aimson in last night ahead of GJ.

Johnston might be worth a shot alongside MJ in midfield. He can play a bit.

Amaechi to me just looks very short of minutes and confidence in his foot that it’s fully mended. His timing seems a bit off. Minutes as sub and in the reserves/pizza cup will improve him greatly I reckon

Yeah I wouldn’t mind that either, a left footer and a right footer at DM.

He’s even at left back this season, I think he’d do a better job than John currently. Lad can play and does have good positioning but can be bullied physically by forwards.

Don't reckon Johnston is a midfielder. Might be able to cover for MJ, but I'm not so sure.

He's a centre half and just needs to regain some confidence.

Traf is right- a lot of chopping and changing, and at the moment Aimson seems a bit more solid.

I think a metaphor of that some fans wear horses blinkers puts is succinctly.

If I was Evatt, I would probably keep Santos, Jones, Isgrove, MJ, Sheehan, Dapo, not sure about Amaechi yet, but the rest can fook off!

Not arsed tbh.

bar Dapo & Jones, I wouldn't be fussed who was to move on

Fucking hell 😂

Could you imagine tomorrow morning Evatt sits 15/20 squad members down and says “right that’s it boys I want you to fuck off out of the club!”

Thomason and Lee, “but boss you’ve just given us new contracts?”

Gilks “ you do realise that leaves us with no keepers gaffer and no keeping coach?”

Santos “as club captain I’m not sure I can take on all that responsibility and wouldn’t it be a bit of gamble trying to find another 4/5 defenders in January?”

Post of the century that pal 🤣

Dixon stay need another to challenge him

Jones stay need another to challenge him

John/ Gordon  both weak

Santos stay

Aimson/ Johnston/Baps   ok as squad members dont see a decent partner for Santos

Mj Stay/tutte stay

Lee/Sheehan/Thomason Stay

Isgrove stay

Dapo stay unless we get a silly bid

Katchunga/Bakayoko/Doyle   any one offer anything get rid

Amaichi  Looks lightweight but he needs games stay if offered the chance

Delfouneso Get rid asap

How can we get rid?  They are under contract, they aren't going anywhere if they are near the first team, which is everyone above except Tutte.

On the 2 strikers where you say get rid, how would that go down if we lose yet another striker when we go from game to game just using the one that happens to be fit that week.  Suicide to let any go surely.  And I'm unclear what Baka's done wrong, do we really expect to sign anyone better in January?  Not going anywhere even in the summer, assuming no change of manager.

Not disagreeing on Amaichi being lightweight, but if we got rid of every lightweight player we'd lose most of the squad, IE seems to favour lightweight players, even the goalkeepers have no stature.

Unfortunately, as the players are under contract, we can only replace them if they find something elsewhere, which is highly unlikely. Summer is different but for January, I think we have 3 places to fill so for me all efforts should be on a good striker, even if it’s a loan. Would it be worth bringing back Greenidge to see how he does alongside Santos? He never seemed to get much of a chance yet is left footed, seemed decent in the air and does have a turn of pace? I’m prepared to be shot down on it but surely he’s as good as Aimson and Johnson? I’d also look for a ball winning, hard tackling midfielder to partner MJ and lastly would bring back both DP and RD because they’re both better than other options we have.

Just my opinion but I thought Greenidge was one of the worst footballer's I've ever seen pull on a white shirt.  And I've seen White and Comley (on i-follow obviously).   His legs seemed to have a mind of their own, it was obvious from day one he wasn't EFL standard, and I suspect he's not National League standard either looking at the Stockport team.

I'm unsure why Aimson is getting written off, he's looked good at centre back, but without excusing anyone for last night, he was out of position at right back.

I agree on bringing back the loan players - but neither will get a look in under IE this season.  They play in positions where we are well stocked, once Jones is back we'll have 4 wingers.  Dapo is rightly 1st or 2nd name on team sheet, so 3 players for one position and Politic isn't getting in ahead of any of them unfortunately.
