Crewe with 11 men, thought Doncaster had a couple of decent individuals.  And as many said, they should have been 1 up.  Crewe didn't show any ambition or ability in the first half.  With 10 men, yes Doncaster were shockingly bad.

Just nice to see two teams clearly worse than us, looking forward to the return fixtures already!

Agree with every sentence except that bit - I thought it was a terrible turnout.  Huge gaps all round the North and West stands that I could see.  It wasn't even that cold.  Don't know if its the i-follow effect, looks like too many S/T holders choosing the at-home option.

Raking studs down the back of a player’s calf without intention to play the ball; straight red. Even the linesman waived his flag and up until then had waited for the ref to indicate direction of throw almost every time the ball went out. He also missed a Doncaster player who was 6’ offside because he forgot the basics of being in-line with the last defender.

Shame the highlights don't show his run down the wing before the first goal. He single-handedly created that out of nothing really. Tremendous.

One thing about Gordon's excellent game was the donny players didn't seem to realise at any point he was a very left footed left back playing at right back. He cut inside with ease every single time.

When he knocked it past the defender with his first touch, I thought there was no way he was getting passed him and keeping possession but he turned the after burners on!

I think he just needs to believe in himself a bit more but hopefully that'll come with game time.  He also looked like the most one footed footballer I think I've ever seen last night but didn't prevent him being MotM for me.

I noticed the same thing too. For in-game management it was really poor they didn’t react or change what they were doing. 

There was one occasion in the 2nd half when they got the ball on the inside of Gordon and he was completely wrong footed putting their player through one on one, fortunately Dixon was ready and out to stop him. Didn’t help that Amaechi wasn’t tracking back - as all his effective work was in the final third. Does worry me that against better teams they won’t be as slow/inept as Doncaster were

It’s a nightmare for opposition full backs marking someone who cuts inside when he’s coming at you.

It’s something Dapo does well when he plays on the left, cuts inside on to his right foot.

The best show of pace i’ve seen at the Unibol all season.

If he stays at RB, Gordon might have a problem when we play a decent side and he’s up against a good left footed player, but from what i’ve seen so far this season, they are few and far between in this division.

Buying matchday tickets in crazy corner has  gone.

Wonder what will go next - Beer? Heaven forbid - as if the matchday experience isn’t sanitised enough these days.

I do think there should be some sort of provision made for smokers though as I’m sick of stinking of cigs whenever I go to the toilets. Could even smell it before the game last night which is just a bit ridiculous really.

Detectors should be put in the bogs that identify smokers, then by use of small storage tanks and aptly placed jets, squirt the culprit with piss.

Yeah but we all had to buy tickets for that!  And it was live on TV.  Last night, clearly a few thousand who had tickets chose not to go.  No criticism from me, just noticeable that it was the crowd was so much lower than normal.

In mitigation, we were on a terrible run, the mood was very unenthusiastic at the time, and it was on TV.  In the preceding few weeks we lost at home to both Stockport and Tranmere, got thrashed at Blackburn and lost 2-0 at Walsall.  We were pissed off.  Even our cup run didn't create a buzz, no stand out wins, with a low key Q-F win v Wimbledon in front of less than 10k.

A couple of other points I don't think that have been mentioned:

 - On freeze frame, is Doyle possibly about an inch off side for the 1st goal?  I've a feeling VAR would have found his finger nail offside, but I'll take it.  Possibly made up for the Burton disallowed one.  Just surprised Donny didn't make the effort to protest, like Burton did successfully.

 - Some of our long, diagonal passing was fantastic.  It possibly gets taken for granted a bit but the passing of Santos, Aimson and I think it was Lee for the 2nd goal is a pleasure to watch.  MJW great at that too.  Its years since we had players that could do that consistently, it was always frustrating watching the likes of Beevers, Matt Mills trying and failing with the long stuff.
