Heaven forbid somebody WANTS to own a football club, WANTS to interact with the fans and WANTS to build into that community.

And if she hadn't we wouldn't be here chatting on Wanderersways.. we'd all be off on Wiganways.. or Buryways

That's why real fans think she's pretty amazing.

Of course, you've admitted you don't go to matches so you'll not have experienced the full buzz for a while.. maybe you should..

I would say you started this tangent because you said you didn't get why £80m shouldt be spent on a football club because there are "more deserving causes."

Krimzon was simply pointing out investors choose where to put their own money based on their own interests, and as a Bolton fan, he’s glad they chose our club rather than a charity.

Then we get pearls such as:

"There's more to life than just football. You will learn that one day."

"I'm beginning to get the feeling that several of you are getting a bit enraptured in a sort of 'cultish' way - Sharon can do no wrong, Sharon is our saviour, sort of way."

"I just want to spell out football is not the be all and end all for anyone (at least it shouldn't be) and that there are more important things in life"

thanks, we all know that, but this is a forum where we come to talk about one of the most "important" things in our lives that we're all passionate.

we don't need to be told on here that the club isn't more important that cancer.

Nobody is buying the "I'm just a victim getting undeserved bad press" routine. You started a nonsensical argument comparing private football infrastructure investment to charity work, got called out by half the forum for talking nonsense, gave some rather patronising replies, and now you're claiming to be misunderstood.

You are wrong.

I never said that at anytime.

I started off by talking about Sharon saying she was here because as she said herself, it was God who sent her to be here (or whatever her exact words were) and defined her reason for God sending her as being 'to do good and change people's lives'.

I then went on to say this...

On 18/08/2026 at 11:18, Sluffy said:

Ok I can sort of accept Sharon believes that she has been sent by God to work a miracle at BWFC (again there are countless other much deserving causes surely than a lower tier English football club)

Which is true.

Even Desperado agrees to that...

- but I simply can't understand their motivation to do so - there are far more worthy causes than chucking their millions into the financial black hole of a football club, even if it is ours.

I refer you again to Desperado's quote above,

There is nothing there that isn't true, she was sent by God (her words not mine) to be here (BWFC) 'to do good and change people's lives'.

Well football clubs are a money pit aren't they?

How is throwing her millions into a financial black hole effective in anyway, wouldn't it be better to achieve her 'reason for being' by spending those millions on doing good and changing people's lives than paying off annual trading losses?

Yes I get that she facilitated the raising of £4.4m to do good things but she had £84.4m and could have used every penny of it, if that was her aim, couldn't she?

Has for my 'pearls' as you call them, am I wrong, is there not more to life than football, don't people openly fawn over 'Aunty' Sharon, 'she saved us', 'I'm eternally grateful', 'she can never do anything wrong in my eyes' - type comments?

Football is not the be all and end all in anyone's life and if it is then that is not normal.

I'm passionate about BWFC too, I've been following them for longer than many on here but I'm rational and level headed as well,

At least one person needed to be told that the club isn't more important than cancer...

I DIDN'T compare a 'private football infrastructure investment (what ever that is?) to charity work, I said if Sharon wants to do good and change people's lives then doing it a debt ridden football club isn't the most obvious place to do it and wouldn't it be better instead of paying £14m to cover the last reported trading loss by spending it instead 'doing good and changing people's lives - well wouldn't it?

I got called out by a number of the usual suspects (no surprise there), Desperado was perhaps the most tenacious but even he acknowledge some of my points as valid, Krimzon called me a condescending prick, believes the club to be more important than dealing with cancer (despite the fact he worked in oncology himself) and yourself basically - and it is clear that you have misunderstood me as I've had to list it out as to what I was actually saying.

I'm saying everyone here has their own perspective. If you don't get why people or investors care about this club, that's fine.

But maybe try not to be condescending or patronising when people offer up their own takes for discussion.

If you didn't talk down to people or lecture them about how they should view life and football, a lot of this friction could easily be avoided.

That's me done and moving on, until the next hot topic goes south.

Thank you for your thoughts.

I'm not condescending or patronising I simply tell it as it is - is there anything you quoted of me a couple of your posts back that wasn't true?

I get dogs abuse from more than a few on here, I don't let it bother me, if some on here can't see beyond BWFC that's up to them but if they want to say things like the club is more important than treating cancer, then I'm obviously going to tell them they are wrong in believing that- which they are.

We all know that or at least most of us do.

Until the next time no doubt.

Enjoy the rest of your day.

You’ve got hung up on just one of her quotes which you keep repeating - 'to do good and change people's lives'.

I think the bit you are missing Sluffy is that she is a football lover. It had to be through football for her.

“It has always been my intention, and will always remain so, to help make a positive difference to people’s lives through the power of football.”

“I was born in Manchester, so when I decided to go into football, I knew I wanted to work with a community and try to make a difference to people’s lives - and I knew I wanted to do it at a club in the north of England.

And, crucially, she talks about the emotional relationship people have with Bolton Wanderers:

“I also hear from supporters all the time who write to me or approach me to tell me their stories and explain what Bolton Wanderers means to them.

“The bigger the platform we can get, the more good that we can do, and the community side is equally as important to me as the football.”

I’m more than happy if you don’t respond as I’ll know you’ll have read it and will now hopefully see there’s more to her involvement than just 'to do good and change people's lives'….. She’s explained this herself…..it’s just as much about football.

If you do respond, keep it about the comments I’ve posted, please don’t repeatedly re-quote what we have already heard from you especially the line about only doing good and comparing it to other causes.

In town of over 200k, within a borough of 300k, and a catchment area of 500k, there would always be a new club in town. At some level.

I'll keep it short.

Does what she says sound normal to you?

I'm not religious, so when she says about being sent by God I think she (or anyone else who receives messages in their head telling them to do something) is a bit 'off' shall we say.

At least the 'message' is to do good and not bad - that's something at least.

However she seems to have put her own spin on the message, not to do good for everyone but 'through the power of football' do it for the fans of 'a club in the north of England'.

Lucky us in a way but you're not telling me that is normal behaviour.

I've already said all this felt somewhat cult-ish behaviour to me even before you pointed the above out, doesn't it seem more so now?

I'm not religious as I say but this quote from the bible came to mind 'beware of false prophets' even more so when I looked up what verse it was (Matthew 7:15 King James bible) and found that the verse continued, 'which come to you in sheep's clothing but inwardly they are ravening wolves'.

Now I'm not suggesting Sharon is anything like that but all this isn't normal is it?

Well is it?

If she believes she is doing God's work by getting BWFC to become an established Premier League club by getting people who 'get it' then she can crack on with it as far as I'm concerned but do you really believe that some hard nose American billionaire businessman being prosecuted for a million dollar fraud and only saved from jail by a pardon (almost certainly paid for) from the most corrupt President of the US ever is here because he 'get's it' (getting it remember is doing good things 'through the power of soccer (whoops it's football over here) for a club in the north of England (which no doubt he's ever heard of before and couldn't find on a map) 'get's it too'.

Well forgive me for being cynical but I very much doubt he does.

But I do now see why folk who believe the club is more important than beating cancer, do 'get it'.

Be careful what you wish for and all that.

Pleasant day to you Desperado.

Religious folk use God or their beliefs to explain their subconscious and inner thoughts, positive or negative.

If she felt compelled to help and re-establish a football club to it's former self for the benefit of thousands of people, a whole town and far reaching audience and wants to attribute some of that compulsion to her faith then what exactly is the problem?

I’ll be honest I find your response and intentions less “normal” than Sharon’s 😂

Well I think everybody will be glad to hear I’m not going to continue this anymore and respond to questions/challenges that have already been answered.

Apologies to everyone else, but I felt my last post was relevant in showing where Sluffy was going wrong and highlighting Sharon’s motivations for taking over BWFC and how much “She gets it” in response to the first post on this topic - I think it’s really important that we understand, appreciate and value her role and have some insight into how she wants to use football and our Club to make a difference - I suspect the large majority are all on board and “Get it” very much.

I think we have to accept that when someone is saying stuff that is wrong or which you don’t agree with or needs to challenging because you have better knowledge than the one who’s shouting loudest/longer, that you challenge it. Others did it and carried on the debate on the finance side of things. (Not my hot topic) But as soon as this strayed into the community and social side of Bolton Wanderers, I felt I did have enough knowledge and experience to challenge him.

I’m certainly not going to engage on religion and someone’s personal beliefs and motivations! 😂

I don’t have anything new to add now, without boring the pants off folk and/or publicly and repeatedly tete-a-tete ing, which nobody wants.

The answers to your answerable questions Sluffy are in all the above comments over the last couple of days, if you choose to see them.

If you are struggling or want more info, PM me - I’ll help you out. I’m quite tolerant and patient like that, even though it is my school holidays 😊🤣

But it would be unfair to keep subjecting everyone else to the diatribe, as they have made it very clear they don’t want to keep reading the same thing over and over again.

Have a good day.

What was her exact quote about God?

I believe it was "I am happy that God gave me the opportunity to..."

There was an all-business meeting yesterday where Sharon apparently praised the staff of the club, hotel and community for being ace and that she was really happy.

Now compare this to Ken Anderson's first meeting immediately after purchasing where he allegedly said he was going to spend the next two weeks deciding who he was going to sack.
