I think it's probably fair to describe us as being in limbo until we at least have clarification as to whether Evatt intends to continue

Why? There's nothing we can do about it. What will be will be. I'd much rather all parties spent a couple of weeks assessing everything than make a knee-jerk decision to appease impatient fans.

As it stands, Ian Evatt is our manager, and there's no real reason for him not to be. Limbo would be if he announced he was leaving with immediate effect, and we had no replacement lined up.

I'm not suggesting there's anything we can do about it, I'm suggesting the club itself is in limbo until Evatt decides whether he intends to continue as our manager or not

That, to me, seems obvious

We don't need to make a knee-jerk decision to appease anyone, but we can't allow the uncertainty to continue for too long as preparations for next season begin now

Maybe he's already informed the board he intends to stay, and they're weighing up their options? There's no need for any statements at this moment in time, particularly in the aftermath of that shitshow at the weekend. Time for level heads.

I don't feel we are "in limbo" really. Think there's been a massive (but understandable) over-reaction to Saturday. It was fucking horrendous, but overall our season wasn't anywhere near as bad as is being made out. You'd think we'd been relegated the way people are talking at the moment. I totally get it and can't help feeling the same, but it's probably wise to let the dust settle before any big decisions are made.

Agreed, I'm in the camp of making the "right" decision rather than a "quick" decision. It could come down to all sorts of factors, financial or otherwise, and bugger all is going to happen next few weeks on transfers etc anyway. If he's still here end June I'll assume he's staying for the season, for now everyone's having a break from it all.

Absolutely. They won't want to be waiting too long, in case they need to get a fresh manager.

That said, they won't be providing a running commentary on it.

Maybe he has

I'm not asking for a statement at this moment in time, I'm simply stating this particular issue needs a resolution sooner rather than later

We can't afford for it to drag on for a few weeks

Why can't we?

Because we need to begin preparations for next season ASAP

Even more so if those preparations involve hiring a new manager

We're already a few weeks behind the rest

Because we have players to release, others to have new contracts or extensions. Others to be bought, loaned in/out. Systems to plan.

I'm surprised that needs explaining.

or maybe there isnt an issue??

if SB knows whats going on and Evatt knows whats going on, everything else is an unnecessary sideshow

and yes, she could come out and say its business and usual and then we will have another week of meltdowns from the 'not going again crew'

i do think we should sack neil hart

I think Evatt's made it pretty clear, both in the run in and on Saturday, that he intends to think about his future this summer

Perhaps it has been resolved and he and the board are on the same page - I'm not claiming that hasn't happened - but if it's still the case Evatt's (or even the board) mulling it over, it's need to come to a resolution quickly

Fucking hell

My point is, why do WE (the fans) need to have immediate confirmation of what's happening, when it probably hasn't been decided yet? I doubt Football Ventures are sat twiddling their thumbs ffs.

We don't

The point being made is that Evatt and the board need to come to a decision as to whether Evatt will remain our manager next season ASAP

That's literally it

theres only speculation that they havent

and if there was a statement today that 'we go again' it would only wind up the ready to be wound up

in thowd days we would just sulk for a fortnight

now everybody wants to run a 10? million quid business

Then leave them to it. We're not "in limbo", we're just waiting for some news that might not even come. As Casino said, there's only speculation about Evatt's future because a load of wankers are inventing it out of thin air.

What is it you're disagreeing with?

im 'disagreeing' with your guess that we have something that needs dealing with when it may already have been dealt with

even if its just the timing of his resignation

Right, but I'm not referring to a public statement

The only point I'm making is if it's still an issue he and the board need to sort it ASAP

It can't be left for a few weeks

It isn't out of thin air, though, it's based on Evatt's own comments 🤷‍♂️
