How can they enforce it. Who’s looking in the crowd going oooh he’s been banned before get him out

Club CCTV. They’ll spend all week scanning footage for known bannees.

Also, don’t bet against facial recognition software being used.

Getting ridiculous; can’t celebrate a goal without getting banned these days. Going to be nobody left at the games at this rate

Spot on.  Why anyone thinks you can't have atmosphere without acting like dicks I've no idea.  Our atmosphere has never been similar to Reading, Charlton, Fulham, Norwich etc.  We've always had that edge to our support which is one thing that probably attracted a lot of us to BWFC in the first place.  But crossing the line and acting juvenile is just disruptive and embarrassing and the more of that sort that get weeded out, the better.

Johnny Rotten? More like Val fucking Doonican.

Covid masks should come in handy then?

Are you seriously saying - these days, you get banned just for celebrating a goal?

I'm glad theres normal folk on here.

Twitter and Facebook are full of happy clapping fuckwits.

The type that Burnley cunt is fawning over

If you think that on Saturday was a bunch of hooligans acting after we scored you are completely wrong and to be honest probably in the wrong sport.

Everyone had stood there for 114 mintues in a 50 mph winds with torrential rain. We'd just seen our manager order his players off the patch after one of our own was racially abused.

Folk watched as our own team had a full on row with their fans to get them ejected.

Stood in the pissing rain as folk got more and more agitated as to what the fuck was going on.

The whole game was againts us, that incident, the ridiculous sending off of our captian, it just wasnt our day but we dug deep and scored in the 114th minute against all odds in a highly passionate end to the game.

It was us against them.

That explosion in the away will go down in history along with port vale, hull away and the likes. You really had to be there.

If you cant grasp why fans, normally law abiding fans ran on to celebrate with our players, after everything that had gone on then like I say Im really not sure watching Bolton away is for you.

These days.

Anyway, anyone caught chucking anything either on the pitch or at opposition fans. Ban them for life.

Anyone going on the pitch for any other reason than to celebrate a goal, en masse with other fans.  Ban them for life.

Anyone caught with flares, smoke bombs, etc.  Ban for 1 season.

Agree 100% but fans who threw missiles should be banned and sadly encroaching on the pitch is against the law and subject to bans, I’d hope any ban for pitch invasion is temporary and in line with the transgression.

Aye you cant be throwing stuff. But it was a completely isolated incident and shouldn't effect the rest of the support.

They should be shorter bans at first. However if they do it a second time then I think it should become a very long ban. One transgression could be a bit of pissed up stupidity from someone normally well-behaved who is getting carried away. Two or more and it's someone with intent.

I agree, sadly Hart is trying to crack a nut with a sledgehammer.. he is going to be the most hated man at the club with our fans, not sure how long his shelf life going to be I suspect he will do what he has been employed to do getting the fans under strict control & membership sorted then move on in a relatively short time.

He doesn't seem to have got off on the right foot.

I agree with sending out a message that poor behaviour comes with consequences but it needs to be calibrated. First offences are looked on less sternly in the wider legal system so BWFC should be no different. If a 19 year old gets leathered and does something daft he shouldn't still be banned when he's 39 with a couple of kids who he'd like to take to the game. That's what this type of thing comes down to.

Clearly at least one of those banned was 57! Not much excuse at that age!

Lay the ground rules and folk will follow them.

I'd you know you're getting a ban if you go on the pitch then you won't, last minute equaliser or not.

Are you suggesting shorter bans for a first time offence of throwing stuff and also pitch encroachment?

I'd suggest for throwing stuff it's an instant life ban.  Nobody over the age of 5 years old should get to the point where they have so much pashun that they feel the need to launch an object at somebody else.

Bolty has a good point.

Someone gets banned,    week after turns up with black covid mask on -  as dont want to take a risk and i just want to protect the people around me officer.

Will the stewards be instructed to not allow face masks in the grounds ?

Has Neil commented on this   ?

I'd be amazed if any of the amoebas who would be getting banned for throwing stuff or setting of flares would be intelligent enough to remember to keep their mask on at all times.  I'd also suggest the rozzers would be instantly suspicious of them and be keeping an eye on them for that one time they do forget.

Dear Supporters Trust,  if you're really representing fans,  please suggest to Neil that his draconian punitive matures are not fit for purpose. Sure,  have a couple of scapegoats but lifetime bans are for folk like that leicester fan who attacked the forest players,  not for a celebration with no other intent.

I'm sure that's right. However I still imagine someone in their 60s looking back at something they did aged 19 and hugely regretting it. When looked at in that light a "life ban" really ought to be an indefinite ban and the onus should be on the person to prove they've reformed before the club reconsiders.

That's a fair point.  Let's go with a 10 year ban.

Why are we talking about lifetime bans? A proper court issued banning order isn't for lifetime in most if not all cases .
