I'm in Spain, we flew Sunday flight was 7am.

Got picked up at 3.30am, at Manc for 4am. Checked in T2 Jet2 by 4.15, got through security at 5.50am, pint supped by 6am as our gate was called.

Talking to one of the security bods, half the problems are at check-in.

Two more trips booked, flights are both from Liverpool, FF.

Took over 2 hours on Sunday to get through security into the new terminal which looks great…. Except only the Holts pub, WHS and Pret open, virtually all food had been sold.

cheers pal

flew from there Friday dinner and the only problem we had was the traffic on the way, ended up going through Whitefield.

20 minutes from arrival at T1 security to being sat in T3 Costa this morning. So early in fact that we were too early for our lounge booking. God bless Ryanair for still selling Fast Track days after the airport stopped selling them.

Does Fast track make the plane go any earlier?

Nope, but for a fiver it means I can be sat relaxing instead of twatting about in security

Back for sale on airport website this afternoon. Which may mean that the issues are “resolved” in the main possibly?

Each to their own but I fail to see why boarding a plane first that will set off only after the last person gets on is a result. I suspect security is near enough sorted now.

No, it just gets you through security quicker, so your waiting time can be spent sat doiwn with a brew/pint/breakfast etc rather than in a queue to have your carry-on scanned.

The issue I have with fast track is that it's a pure money making exercise. There should just be one level of decent service and you wait your turn, first come first served. Personally, I'd ban carry-on luggage except for essential items.

Standing in a queue of folk moaning v sat down relaxing.

For a fiver.

Can't he bothered with either.

Can set off and be in a cottage before some have set off after arriving at the airport.

Each to their own of course, but it's not for me.

To be fair I can’t wait to go on hols abroad but will wait another year for it to hopefully get back to normal/ish again.

Don't blame you.

Lad would quite like to do Iceland and I quite fancy Scandinavia.

Would probably do a ferry job though, and take/hire a car. Big areas to take in, and I'd like to do some fishing too.

He's also shit scared of flying, and it's not exactly my favourite pastime neither, so touring seems reasonable.

Manchester Airport has never been any different. Especially post 9/11.

Always carnage getting through at peak times. The old friday/tuesday "change over" days were barbaric. No social media back then though :)

Haha all fair.

I was on a flight to Prague once, a young couple next to me were holding hands obviously shitting themselves on take-off, I'd been drinking heavily and blurted out "I don't know why you're scared, if we crash we'll be asphyxiated or incinerated in about five seconds..."

When eldest was there about 10 days ago, they bought fast track then abandoned it

It was just massive queues at security whichever way you went

If it works, a fiver is a brainer

Parking is some price at the airport eh.

glasgow I paid 80quid for nearly 3 weeks in the multistory adjoined to the terminal. Manchester it’s about 120 for less than 2 weeks the robbing cunts. unless I want to travel on some bus to a farmers field that is where my car is likely bogged in for about 60quid

Jetparks or whatever is ok

But its taxis for us these days and its prob cheaper
