Sheff Weds (H)

Not seen a thread for this yet, so here goes.

We’ll need everyone to have a great game to win this - and thats not happened for what seems like a long time.

We’ve also a few injuries as we all know.

Head says 1-2

Heart says 2-1

People be so fickle. Yeah we got a depleted squad and nothing to play for. But look, we are in a great position, its a Saturday afternoon, sun is shining, 2 massive, historical teams playing against e

I’ve nothing against them, proper club. I just enjoy visiting fans fuming when late goals go in

  • No one scores more late goals than us. Who the fuck is leaving 10 minutes to go. Weirdos

Fuck it, let’s have a go at them and enjoy the chaos.

Barry Ryan Bannan will be out to prove a point again .

Mind you he is a decent player.

3rd draw on the bounce , I would accept right now.

He’s proving a point every week - best midfielder in the league for me, a very very good player and I think he’ll run it on Saturday.

Injuries to 3 of our most important players (incl. Fossey), plus just generally looking like we’ve dropped off our top form and are on the beach, mean I think we’ll get beat. Probably 2-0 or something like that.

Quite possibly not win another game all season. Some drunken days ahead.

Who? Us?

Equally as possible that we don’t lose another game all season imo.

Not without Santos who is out for the season.

Dapo and Demps out Sat as well.

We'll see, and I don't think Evatt would stand for us putting our feet up but I think we'll be a decent shout on BTTS in the coming weeks at the very least.

They turn up en masse, all giddy on a promotion party. We tear them a new one.  It's 1982 all over again.

One of my favourite days as a Bolton fan. A great escape of remarkable proportions that year ... although we weren't sure until Cardiff lost their two games in hand after that final Saturday of the season

I'd settle for us not rolling over for the likes of Accrington and Fleetwood. It would be good to win at least one league derby match this season!

I must have missed this. Is there a link with details? Cheers

Stop Bannan and we've every chance. Job for William's.

I'll go with that.

We can play without their pressure

Good job we’re not in the running, injuries to some key players would have hindered us.

As it is, it will allow some fringe players a chance to show whether they have a part to play next season and for Evatt to experiment a bit.

Ahhh. Was only talking to a mate about that this morning, how huge this game could have been if we could have just turned some of our points into wins. Would have been one of those unbearable few days building up to it!

Instead, a few weeks left before we can reflect on a season that has given us some genuine excitement and drama and get ready for August.

You need to have a word with the cynic inside and tell him to take his cock out of his mouth

Ever the diplomat :)

as for the game, the BN article also explains that a number are Ill within the squad.

Doesn't say so, but maybe covid striking again.

God knows what team Evatt will be able to put out.

Dapo was in doubt before the game on Tuesday, wasn’t he? I did wonder whether there had been a bug going round as he was blowing out of his arse before the hour mark.

Going off my experience this week, and indeed the wider family, it seems that you tend to test positive several days after starting feeling a bit rough.

Can't be easy trying to keep a squad training then one starts feeling dodgy. All of a sudden, every bugger starts with it.

Obviously, it could be something else, but it wouldn't be surprising if covid wasn't behind it.

That was the first time I went on the sacred Burnden pitch.  What a dump!  More sand than grass.  My only other pitch invasion there was the PNE promotion.

Yes, waiting for Cardiff to lose their last game about a week later before we were safe was a joke, that's one thing that's improved, leagues finishing on the same day (I remember Coventry having 3 games left to avoid relegation in the 80s.  One was against the champions Everton who fielded a weakened team.  Cov won all 3 to send Norwich down who'd finished their season 2 weeks earlier!).

Over 18k sold

That sounds low, only 13k home tickets?  Less than for Pompey and probably any Saturday game this season.

Hopefully a few more go tomorrow as presume no tickets on the day.

Ive bought a ticket....27 quid

Cant see loads of one game a season merchants on that

Any spares for North,West or uppers give me a shout.

For my mate and his 6 year old who doesnt want to be with feral youth :)

Cardiff's first game in hand was at Grimsby. They had to win both and it was 0-0 at Blundell Park until very late when a lad called Tarki Micallef scored for them. Horrible. All came down to the last game against already promoted Luton at Cardiff. We were worried Luton would be on the beach but they did us a right favour.
