No condoms?

Lost 8 wickets for 95 this morning and India are 185-1.

We're not winning this one.

Jaiswal is some talent

12 centuries from 39 first class innings

We blew it today.
Started the day 230-odd runs behind but with 8 wickets in hand.
End the day 320 behind with India only 2 down.

We've gone from possible win to certain defeat in a day.

Bottlers

There are lots of things you could say about this England team. Bottlers isn’t one of them. If anything, they are too positive. Thats the whole philosophy of (dare I say it and no one in the England setup wants to call it) Bazball. It's the way we now play. Sometimes it works, actually must times it works. Sometimes it doesn’t.
It’s great to watch though. Don’t be afraid to fail. ‘Ben Stokes’

Not sure if this is ‘great to watch’ 🙁

Hopefully Bairstow's  last series this

Why did Stokes review? It was as obvious an LBW as you could get!

Exactly

We had a poor day 3, we are playing away at one of the best and each innings, we are facing a batsman playing a fantastic innings

We made a mess of day 3, thats all

It happens

We just need big innings from Root, Bairstow & Stokes.

We just needed big innings from Hartley, Wood and Anderson.

Still too much feast or famine.

Aggers summed it up perfectly well earlier.

You can be very positive, but can moderate it according to conditions and situations, and still be able to win games.

When did we last win in a series in india?

Its so easy for agnew (and others, tbf) to be critical, but all sorts of teams have tried all sorts in india

India have lost about 4 home games in 35 in 10 years

How many have root and stokes scored this series, i reckon thats more the issue than the tactics

Plus, our spinners can count their tests on 2 hands and overall FC if they use their toes :)

Bring em over here and we beat em

Not just India though is it?

And it's Agger's job to report and analyse.

He wasn't particularly critical neither- he never is- but his comments about learning and applying that to the game situation are spot on.

Bumrah could be a big miss for them. But I’m not convinced we’ll turn things around now. Rot seems to have set in with a few batsmen.

I like Aggers. Critical or giving praise he gives his opinions after careful thought. If he is critical then it carries more weight than someone who barks loud on a regular basis.

I'm hoping that the big guns start firing in the 4th. But I'm thinking that they are fighting with the mental aspects that comes with a series of shit scores.

He's an exceptional commentator and a fine raconteur.

Seen his show with Tuffers- an excellent evening.

At the interval, the audience could write down a question and they'd discuss them afterwards.

He answered all with a straight bat, and gave nothing away as to create disconnect between himself and the cricketing fraternity. He'd make a great HOC Speaker 😁

He didn't come across at all well when he got called out by Jonathan Liew. Proper lost the plot.

Nice knock from root, bout time

First I'd heard of this.

So had a look.

Quelle surprise that a guardian writer chooses to write accusational pieces, aiming loose, un-evidenced comments, then cries when he gets stuff back.

Aggers perhaps shouldn't have taken to twitter in response (perhaps fuelled by a drop or two 😀), though his frustration is understandable.

Liew wrote the article for The Independent.

Unevidenced? Agnew wrote a negative article about Archer changing his national allegiance. But welcomed Gary Ballance who did the same thing.

Liew should have chosen his words better but Agnew's response was hysterical.

Below his unanswered messages to Liew.

Agnew: “You really have issues”

Agnew: “Apologise now”.

Agnew: “I’m going no further on the advice of people who know you and think you are a cunt. I know you are. Think on.”

Agnew: “CUNT”

Agnew: “You are so strange I don’t know if you’d be upset to know those who think you are a cunt”

Agnew: “If you think so in hindsight then you have a chance. If you don’t ...

Agnew: “I’m SO angry”

Agnew: “Book yourself in somewhere”

Agnew: “You need help”

Agnew: “Who the fuck are you?”

Great effort from Root today, it was looking dicey at 112-5, but 302-7 at stumps was a good comeback.

353 all out could be decent on this track. Good knocks by Foakes & Robinson to back Root up.
We don't score many unbeaten tons in India, so fair play to JR.

Get Jaiswal out soon and we're looking at a reasonable lead.
