was always going to be a difficult debut for Hartley. He put some valuable runs on with Stokes.

With his bowling he's never been a consistent enough for Lancashire (in either format) and will always give you a short ball an over which at this level gets punished EVERY time. Hopefully he comes back tomorrow and picks up a couple of quick wicket's to settle him down.

He bowled some crackers and well done Ben Stokes for backing him. Seems to be happier against right handers?

we met parky in blackpool after fleetwood last year

i couldn't work him out

just seemed like hed given up on england and didnt seem overly arsed about cricket, full stop

it was about 7.30 and refreshments had been taken though

 

 

as for hartley, i guess a lot will depend on the support offered by coach/captain and the camp

don't think he's even been the best 'trainer' and probably been overtaken now by their Callum.

Hope the move to Kent this season  kickstarts his career again

Obviously their bowling is (currently) better than ours, but there doesn’t seem to be too many demons in the pitch (we’ll see!), so some decent test match batting could see us putting up a fighting show.

I suppose we could have taken old warhorses, such as Liam Dawson, 33, but what would we have learned?

I don’t know the thinking, but they know the limitations of the old (spinning) guard, so why not give up and coming young uns a go, especially as 4 or 5 test nations are around the sub continent?
