School Holidays

First day of the school holidays today, my eldest (9) was out of the door on his BMX at 8 bells knocking his other gang mates up to finish off their den, oh to be that age again. 6 year old wants to play with them but can’t keep up on his bike so he’s kicking off. Baby is on his 3rd Nappy change.

Can’t wait to get back in work next week.

Theres no one saying it’s not a good idea. The thing many are understandably pissed off with is the lack of inclusion for others. Not sure how you brought your kids up but mine are taught to treat all

  • So RWs kids cant go on these activities with their mates cos hes not struggling enough to get free school meals Thats his issue and its not so difficult to understand, is it?

"Straight Talking" - that's usually the sign of a simpleton, who doesn't know what's going on and just talks shit.

"Heavy Viewers of TV"  -  I wonder what that actually means, how many hours counts as heavy?  -  believe it or not, we didn't turn our TV on for 3 days after we returned from holiday the other week, which I reckon is the longest it's ever been off in our house (I know it wasn't turned on when I was out of the house, as everything was unplugged as we'd had the house decorated whilst we were away)

It means its the majority of their freetime rather than reading, theatre, participation in sports

To reach them you need to looks at certain media channels.

Straight talking isn't a simpleton, it just means they are direct and therefore in your communications to them - be just as direct as that's what they will response to best which writing your copy and messaging.

You hear it on certain radio ads on say Talksport, which you wouldn't hear on say, Classic FM.

working class these days is determined by the number of tattos you have in relation to the number of meals that are delivered to your house

it also includes those who don't work

tattoos multiplied by Just Eat deliveries, that's then divided by amount of feral children in the abode, and then multiplied back out by the amount of fags smoked each day, finally the size of your main tv (in inches, measure across the diagonal) is added onto the number. If that number is higher than 250, then you're working class.

I think having more than one TV is probably a signifier.

That's very working class. Us middle class types have one TV in the corner of the room next to the extensive bookcase. We then use our computers and tablets we say are for work to watch BBC4 and Sky Arts on.

We have 1 TV and it’s not huge, perhaps 39 or 41 inch and was only £400 when new around 3 or 4 years ago.

Again, technology being unimportant in our house.

Planning out the next 6 weeks for the kids who break up next week. Salford council have put shit loads on for free, superb I thought. One draw back……. Your kid has to be on free school meals to be able to attend the activities .

So because my kids don’t have free meals they’re not allowed to attend events/activities with their mates.

Fuck you salford council.

Of course I am. It’s that clown who’s the most consistent person on here for being wrong .

Not half.

Like I said elsewhere, if he doesn't believe it, its not true.

As for the scheme, well its diversity and inclusion at its absolute finest.

Don't hate saying it. If he's right, he's right. Fair enough. 🤷‍♂️

Bit like complaining about people using foodbanks though. "How come those poor people are getting free food, but I've got to pay for mine?!"

Still not convinced though. If you really wanted your child to attend one of these events, I'm sure they'd be able to accomodate you, even if it meant paying for it.
