  • We're being gaslit into mourning here, football fans absolute low lives as usual. It's a disgraceful decision, a unilateral decision compared to other sports. "They'll take it, they'll go watchin

  • It’ll keep the drama queens and doom nonces happy for a few days.

That's my fear too, this could mean 2 blank weekends, then its international break and September's a write off.  Bollocks.

Pushing it for Saturday

could be on this

My gut feeling is that everything will be off but this guy does have a point.

It's obviously totally unprecedented but I wonder in this discussion with the government whether the PL will be saying we're already pushed for availability before WC starts, and how much sway they'll have.

It is a fair point.

Still think they will be postponed though.

Playing the games would allow hundreds of thousands of people to pay their respects at once.

Funeral won't be for about 8 or 9 days from now - and I am led to believe that day will be a public holiday.

I agree that games should go ahead this weekend and people should be allowed to pay their respects at those matches.

Norwich travel to Burnley tomorrow night so would think a quick announcement

Agreed.  I can understand next weekend when the funeral is scheduled for, but surely it’s too late for this weekend with the cost / inconvenience and what people will do without sport.

It will already be decided, talk of discussions are purely because they don’t want to be accused of insensitivity by announcing so soon.

Very much expect all games to be off this Friday, Saturday and Sunday and everything off on the day of the funeral too (presumably next Saturday - maybe shift all the games to Sunday?)

Nah think it will go ahead this weekend

next possibility not

Fridays matches gone

Find out tomorrow about Saturday

All other sport called off

maybe it might get pulled then

Rotherham and the likes will probably blame us for unfairly benefitting as the Queen passed through Bolton once in the 60s.

Not sure cancelling this weekends fixtures achieves anything.

Doubt train companies will give refunds

Better off postponing the weekend after, when there's a train strike.

They've cancelled the rail strikes out of respect I've just seen

I know, probably shift the strikes to a different weekend now... watch this it'll be FGR date

When Diana snuffed it, they cancelled Sunday matches but we played Monday. Hopefully be the same this weekend, off Friday only
