Well he spoke a bit too soon on this one

ok, so we're dealing with feelings and not facts, it's starting to make sense now

regards being in the know, that would suggest to me that a meeting took place between Villa and WMP where it was agreed they weren't letting the fans come becuase they were Jewish but, so as not to come across as anti-semitic, the official line will be it's to do with previous fan behaviour

and then someone decided to share details of that meeting with Keir Starmer

I doubt it

but, to be fair, that's also just a feeling

A fact is Villa have never had to refuse tickets to an away team before. This is a club that hosts some of the most hostile derbies in the country, all of a sudden this game was to dangerous. A game between 2 clubs that haven’t met before. Weird hey

aye, that is a fact, and as far as I'm aware they'd never refused entry to fans who turned up before, until Legia Warsaw

they'd already reduced the allocation in the build up to the match because of trouble in previous games

and then when trouble occured on the day of the game, they got told to fuck off and they weren't coming in

I'm pretty sure that's never happened before either

and it wasn't because they were jewish

maccabi are a team with a track record of matches being abadoned mid game because of trouble

and in the current climate, trouble was expected that went beyond the fans in and around the ground

also

Millwall used to get banned - they got banned from city and vice versa years back

here's a link

https://www.independent.co.uk/sport/football/news/clubs-reach-agreement-to-ban-away-fans-5363858.html

they've also banned away fans from specific clubs, and others had to be played "in daylight", but let others in no problem

You say it’s not weird when it clearly is. Your link highlights Rival fans. Clubs with a  history of causing trouble with one another. These hadn’t played before. If it wasn’t weird you’d be able to find many instances where this has happened. I bet you can’t.

The Legia Warsaw example you just cited shows allocations DO get reduced based on anticipated trouble. The difference here isn't that they're Jewish - it's that the threat assessment is based on geopolitics rather than football rivalry.

Whether you think that threat assessment was accurate or fair is a separate question. But Russian clubs got banned from European competition entirely after Ukraine. Turkish and Greek clubs have had severe restrictions when playing each other. This isn't without precedent - it's just a different type of security concern.

This wasn’t reduced it was a case of you’re not coming in. Galatasaray come over after killing fans, Roma fans come over after nearly killing a fan. Clubs with a history of violence still welcomed. What trouble did these lot last bring over here…..you know when antisemitism wasn’t as bad? The police know they would have struggled to police this and took the easy option.

Outstanding effort chaps, take a bow 👏 🧢

Galatasary fans were banned from Elland Road after the murders.

You can read this thread and think this country is dead on its knees.

Then you can stand for a couple of minutes silence and respect before the game today and apart from one Vale who I think thought it had finished, there is complete and utter respect.

You know the country would be a million times better if we celebrated the good stuff rather than all the self reflection and not picking we all get caught up in.

Ironic in a way that I am moaning about this.

Obviously, a few weeks after killing 2 fans no one would criticise that. They’ve been back to England since though. Also to prevent violence in Turkey its arranged that away team fans are coached to the ground and out of the ground after the game, to reduce  violence, surely something they could have looked at over here instead of taking taking the easy option.

Yes

No

Pro Israel and Pro Palestine have turned this into something it's not

The maccabi fans were not banned because they are Jewish and it's not the first time such action has been taken, despite what you might think

You can ignore it if you want but It's all there

Brass tacks. They were banned because of fear of a UK muslim threat and UK muslim political bastardry aided and abetted by the same type of 'authorities' who actively ignored the grooming gang issue.

Stop defending. Stop fucking around and tell it like it is.

Where was this level of outrage and government intervention when we were watching thousands of Palestinian kids being killed? It's interesting what gets called a 'national disgrace' and what doesn't.

??? The 'outrage' is about a 'national disgrace' in our nation (cue wanky Australia comments).

Fuck all to do with the attempted elimination of Hamas and the innocents they hide behind.

Looks like a proper Northern company to me

https://www.blast-away.co.uk/

Surely the Villa game was called off because the fans were Israeli rather than the fact they were Jewish ? As the two go pretty much hand in hand easy to equate the two.

This alongside the Israeli fans track record makes for a pretty toxic mix especially in an area with a high % of support for Palestine.

Any suggestion Kier is an anti semite I am sure we all agree is fucking nonsense.

They were banned because of the threat posed by their own fans based on what was seen in the previous game in Amsterdam

And that threat would no doubt have seen a reaction from the locals

That's how it is

I don't apply an inverse square law to human suffering based on distance. Dead kids are dead kids whether they're in Birmingham or Gaza.

We all pick our battles though, so you guys keep on fighting your injustice wherever you see it! 👍

Correct. No one can disagree with this, particularly bearing in mind his marital arrangement.

There are a fucking lot of them in the party he leads though.

Use your loaf for once pal. You can't make similar mistakes to choosing Brisbane over Perth over and over again FFS.

The supporters from Tel Aviv were banned to placate an obnoxious muslim minority bent on the complete annihilation of all Jews and the state of Israel.

While plenty have been like you and would rather have spent the day at the pub rather than voting in council elections, they (yes, they - you know who I mean) have been mobilising and infiltrating councils up and down the country. Precisely what has happened in Birmingham. Senior police officers chumming up to some of these sinister individuals is mind bending IMO.

In managing to ban them, the undesirables will have been further emboldened. We all know what is coming. When it was predicted decades ago, the Independence Day skyscraper welcome committee types laughed. It will not be too long before we will be able to say to them "You're not laughing now, are you?".
