It’s only ever right wing politicians & folk like Tommy Robinson who use the words NoGoArea

And it’s only ever directed at immigrant or Muslim communities

Thats my issue with it

And it doesn’t mean I’m saying areas are safe

I get your point, however…..

There are areas around here, that I’m sure that @miamiwhite would agree with, as he’s regularly working there, that, if I had brown skin, I would class as a no go area. They are maybe simply not as vocal

Worked round that neck of the woods a few times, was taken to a lovely Yemeni restaurant last time and ate far to much food.

Glodwick is fucking disgusting.

Around 2001 I invited a couple of community workers wit their group of young people (who were on the verge of criminality) to come to Hindley prison to meet some prisoners who would tell them that prison life is shit. The cons who 'worked' for me told them in no uncertain terms exactly what it was like and scared the shit out of them. I got a phone call later that day from the Glodwick staff to say that they had been handed 8 stolen bank cards on the mini bus going home.

Glodwick youth were feral, but, they listened to what they were told and decided crime wasn't for them

Love your EXACT distance of 219 miles :D

You have a good one as well pal

I don’t mind a good discussion with folk as long as it’s based on experiences

That’s giving the area more credit than it deserves

I’m in and around Oldham every week as it’s where I live. I wouldn’t even drive through there these days.

7 years ago on the 24th mate, I think we drew 1 each with Millwall at home, though there was only one result which mattered that day 😉

Honestly pal, I can't fucking believe it's 7 years since we had that cuppa in your kitchen, time flies ♥

So some of the most notorious groups of hooligans in football have been allowed to Villa park for decades yet all of a sudden they’ve banned one teams fans who happen to be Jewish.

Same west Midlands police that do pressers and open with a senior officer pandering to them, and not speaking English.

We all know local political pressure had been applied, and that the ban was as a result.

Simply an effort on their part of deflecting attention and trying to shut down investigation.

Given the attacks on their supporters previously (in a Jew hunt) why were the protests not banned, especially once the fans had been?

What are they doing about the social media organised hunt for the players/staff and maybe journalists?

Did sky news cover all that?

Glodwick has been an absolute shit hole for decades.

My gran lived in Ashton under Lyne, and we would pass through when driving over.

On occasions, I'd cycle over, and when I approached the area, I'd become wart and vigilant. Then breath a big sigh of relief as I left.

I doubt they've learned what a letter bin is during that time.

Loads of talk of no go areas and stuff and no bugger's mentioned Gibraltar street.

Gone to the dogs this place.....

Similar area in Nelson and Brierfield.

Not a chance you're walking through there on Saturday night.

Houses round it with washing lines strung from house to house so no cars can get down. Rubbish just piled high at the end of the street all living like fucking rats.

Rafts of Audis and Mercs parked everywhere though.

Same happened with Warsaw fans at villa a couple of years ago and no one gave it a second thought

In a nutshell

Fans all across Europe have been banned on safety advice in the past & will be in the future I’m sure.

I think there’s a legit debate to be had about whether they should have been or not. But if you act like racist thugs, go around attacking Arabs & antagonising folk - then you’d be mad not to expect safety advice sent to the police.

It wasn’t because they’re Jewish or due to a pandering to the Muslim community. The main reason was because of their previous behaviour. Clear as day.

And a bunch of English hooligans causing trouble at Villa park doesn’t disprove anything.

I’m always open to reason mate 😄

Completely get your points. I think my comments might have been misunderstood as me meaning everywhere isn’t as bad as it’s made out. There are some absolute shitholes up & down this country where folk don’t feel safe. I get that.

My point is around the No Go Areas argument only ever being directed at immigrant communities. Which I think misses a lot of context around the issues facing this country & does nothing but create division. Which is why I think it’s nonsense

I do also think these areas have plenty good people, trying to do good things.
Saw an interesting documentary about some of the mosques & areas in Luton that Tommy Robinson regularly labels as No Go Areas. It wasn’t perfect by any means, but it was nowhere near as bad as TR had claimed.

Previous fan behaviour leads to fans not being allowed into villa park and other grounds

The only difference is the country the team and fans come from

It's not an isolated incident on the part of WMP, Villa or UEFA

The other difference is no one came out in solidarity for the poles, it happened an no one cared

Did you read the first article that posted?

Have UEFA banned Tel Aviv fans?

Anyone who genuinely believes Tel Aviv fans were banned from Villa Park "because they're Jewish" is an absolute fucking moonman.
