Because this was a decision made by UEFA. Do keep up.

Surely if the Dutch police thought they were bad they would have told Ajax not to sell them tickets?

There’s plenty of instances were fans have kicked off abroad. You don’t have to go abroad either, look at our fan base and see what’s happened at home.

The Maccabi fans turned up in their hundreds to attack Muslims in violence completely unrelated to the game.

Which English fans have acted similarly to the Maccabi fans recently & on the same scale? At home & abroad ? I’m asking for examples but you’re not giving any…

I don’t think the Dutch police expected them to be that bad. Or at least they thought they could manage it better.

Good of them to give the safety advice. Made Birmingham a lot safer for everyone 👍

Again no mention of the attacks on MTA fans 😂

Bolton fans attacked Lincoln fans and innocents pub goers. This is why I asked you is it any worse someone being attacked for being a scouser (used that as an example) or a Muslim. So far you’ve replied with about 20 paragraphs and no answer. I’ve been to numerous England games were folk were attacked for basically not being English.

except the trouble only occured after the fans had bought tickets and turned up in Amsterdam

like when Villa gave Warsaw 1700 (this was reduced from the mandatory 2100), then reduced again to 1000 on police advice - because - guess what- warsaw fans had been booting off on a large scale in the netherlands as well as previouusly leicester, both times lots of cops got injured

then legia all turned up and booted off so didn't let them in at all

so that experience, plus reports from dutch police of what to expect, it's shouldn't really be a surprise

and just to prove what nobheads they are, they get their next game at home abandoned at half time because they were booting off

had to argue they are being discriminated against, but well done for trying

Oh but we keep hearing how Tel Aviv have a history of football violence, surely the Dutch authorities were privy to this intelligence or is if for WW only?

No, didn’t think so. Two sides of the same coin which you’ll never see. Until both sides do peace will never be achieved. Might have mentioned this before……

It's a simple equation for me. Irrespective of the 2,000+ years of fairy tale inspired savagery, the situation in modern times IMO is one side aligned with Western democracy wanting to be left alone, live a peaceful life and be part of a world community - the other side with visions of an ISIS type governance under Sharia law wanting to wipe the first 'side' off the face of the Earth and, no doubt, be supportive of greater islamification of the globe leading to something akin to what a Nazi ruled world would have been like if they had succeeded.

In short, your 'No, didn't think so' was insightful.

I had a look on AI to see how bad the “Amsterdam Riots really were. I’ve seen worse every season I’ve been watching Bolton

Here are some of the main crimes and incidents involving fans of Maccabi Tel Aviv in Amsterdam around the AFC Ajax match on 7 November 2024:

What the reports say the Maccabi fans did

  • On the evening before the match, Maccabi fans reportedly tore down a Palestinian flag from a building’s facade in Amsterdam.
  • They shouted anti-Arab / anti-Palestinian slogans.
  • They vandalised vehicles: for example, they assaulted a taxi-driver and damaged his taxi.
  • According to an overview article, some supporters chanted things like “Let the IDF win & fuck the Arabs” while in Amsterdam.

Context & caveats

  • The subsequent riots and violence after the match were mainly directed against Israeli fans in Amsterdam — i.e., Maccabi supporters were victims of “hit-and-run” style attacks, assaults and anti-Semitic targeting.
  • The Dutch prosecutors say that while Maccabi fans engaged in some misconduct (flag removal, chanting), the worst violence (beatings, chasing, assaulting Israeli fans) was committed by other groups (pro-Palestinian sympathisers).
  • In one legal judgement, the court said for some defendants: “There is no evidence of … a terrorist intent and the violence was not motivated by anti-Semitic sentiment.”
  • However, there were incitements, hate speech and discriminatory remarks made by some of the suspects (e.g., chat groups where insults referring to Jewish people were used).

Weak as piss reasons. I wonder what they'd have made of gangs armed with cut throat razors at Maine Road; Wolves fan with a sawn off shotgun at Walsall; an Oldham fan careering around on a motorbike waving a sabre above his head?

It's all bollocks as we all know. One reason for the ban. Islamic inspired anti semitism.

But but but they pulled a flag down and sang some naught songs. The fact more were arrested at Villa park tells you all you need to know.

In short, your 'No, didn't think so' was insightful.

You lose credibility with such sweeping generalisations.  To paraphrase what you’ve written: “all Jews want peace” and “all Muslims want to kill all Jews/non-muslims”. Can you not see how ludicrous that is?  You must do. Neither statement can possibly be true.

In reality?…..the majority of Jews and Muslims just want “a normal quiet life” and be left alone, like you and me. Food on the table, a roof over their heads, schools for their kids, healthcare for their family etc.

There is a small percentage of bigoted, intolerant nutjobs on both sides who don’t seem to be able to co-exist. Worshipping the devil in the name of (their) god.

Like you I wish we lived in a world  without religion, but that ain’t gonna happen.

“Ive had a chat with AI & have decided it was just like the Bolton vs Lincoln game”

😂😂

Dutch police must have been talking out their arse then.

Firstly, fuck off with your paraphrasing. I don't need you or anyone else fake newsing my offerings. With this in mind, it seems that is you who is being ludicrous with your senselessly exaggerated conclusions.

I will however concede that 'losing credibility' with you will interfere with my sleeping patterns tonight :rolleyes2:

You're such a dick at times.

The guy is quite rightly making a precis of what you've been saying on here for years, we all know it.

I note that you don't actually disagree with the summary.

Own it.

We all know what is coming. When it was predicted decades ago, the Independence Day skyscraper welcome committee types laughed. It will not be too long before we will be able to say to them "You're not laughing now, are you?".

for those of us who don't know "what is coming" can you point it out......without sounding overly dramatic.  I'm hoping you're not one of these SYL types who think we're on the brink of civil war are you?

They must have been. 10 arrests over 3 days of riots, criticisms of locals from the Mayor. Hardly sounds like it’s being made out does it.

My Dutcher colleagues, when I've asked them about this, said there was a little bit of trouble, but pretty much fuck all compared to when Feyenord come to Amsterdam 😁. Most of the trouble, they reckon was caused by Dutch fans who went looking for it.

Violence should be the last thing on anyone's mind when visiting Amsterdam ffs.

Unless it entails having your kidneys booted out of your throat whilst getting stomped and smashed in by S&M Ingrid.

Would need a window the size of Woolworths to get all the letters of LGBT+ on 😄
