I think someone mentioned what if this chap hadn't been at the game.

Have a look at that link !

Interests include cycling, travel and the theatre !!

And he was there at Spurs !!!

Happen I'm wrong, maybe there is a god and he's smiling down on our lad.

Just been on Sky Sports News, he was the man who advised paramedics to take Fab the hospital he is at now and is now involved in his care.

If the stewards had have played by the rules, even Howard Webb could have followed guidelines and asked him leave the field of play, things could have been different. Football rightly went out the window when this happened.

Fucking well done to all involved, you could have well saved his life.

He was saying on his twitter that he didnt do anything though - got on pitch but they didnt need his help!

He did go onto the pitch though, and his presence there and in the ambulance would have been invaluable if required- should give him a medal for his efforts

Exactly, I believe they drove past 2 other hospitals to get to the one that is treating Fabrice because of its specialitiy.. Dr Deaner must have had a say in this.

Everyone from Howard Webb to the nurses who are giving Fabrice around the clock care deserve a medal, but then again its just a regular day for these special people. It just takes a case like this to bring it to forefront of our minds

Think it turned out that that was another bloke.

This guy actually got on and helped out.

Great news about him now, but I wonder how many other people will get the effort Fab has had ?

He is one lucky boy.

He was fortunate as to where this happened and the immediate care he recieved (even to the fact we were playing in London with a specialist unit), but I would like to think that even the man in the street would get the care required. Having seen an ICU department in action on an everyday basis, they in the main do a wonderful job in the most difficult situations regardless of who the patient was.

I agree, and you know more than me, but the cynic in me thinks that Joe Postman will not bet 2 hours spent trying to get his heart going.

Maybe it was down to the high level of care.

no comment

Major credit goes to this fella. Legend!

Maybe now is time to leave the cynical comments/thoughts out of this whole situation and just be thankful this bloke was there.

Good point.

Just read up on this guy and you couldnt have wanted a better man to have been there. Top bloke and I'm just glad the stewards let him on, they could have quite easily said no.

Hope we do something to recognise this mans efforts.

Ahaa I see! No wonder he got fed up with the attention then!

My daughter works in the Intensive Care unit at Wigan hospital, everyone gets treated the best way possible whoever they are.

Few people I know mentioning getting a banner for him and the Spurs fans for the league game at the Reebok.

I must admit to feeling something for Spurs now.

I'd like to think all fans would have shown the same reaction, but their realisation of the seriousness (as a whole crowd) was quite impressive.

I'll be applauding them when they come to ours.

I am sure the club will invite him as a vip for the day

Before my dad passed away he nearly died in high dependency but for the work off all the staff there he would have been dead a lot sooner. Everyone in my experience gets treated as an equal.

I agree.

Will you do me a favour? Tell your mate, is it Chris? the bloke I wound up a while back, the councillor that he was excellant on 5live yesterday. He spoke eloquenly regarding the Muamba situation. Very impressed. Cheers pal

Incredible quick thinking, even if all he did was make sure they went straight to the specialist unit he's saved his life.. for someone to react like that is unbelievable..

He told the abulance crew to take him to that chest hospital as thats where he works

As a nurse who has spent 10 years in ICU and has been on many Resus teams. You do treat everyone differentley but with the same amount of care for the same goal.

By this I mean that Fab had 2 hours of CPR which is incredibly physically traumatic for the body. the fact that he is a very strong, fit and otherwise healthy young man meant he could tolerate this . For a patient like this and with children with every hope of a positive outcome the staff involved woulf have worked on him for much longer if needed. ( I know of young drowning victims who have recovered after 11 hours of constant CPR), where as a frail old woman wouldnt generally be able to tolerate that much CPR.

Age and health is a factor.

Also Everyone has to agree at the same time to stop (out of a team of up to 12 staff in many cases). In my experience if just 1 wants to carry on they invariably will until the team leader makes the final decision, but everyone is very sensitive about the situation at the time.

As mentioned the fact that this consultant influenced the decision to go to that particular hospital was outstanding and had a major impact on Fabs current condition, it could well have been different if he had been taken to the nearest A&E and not a specialist centre.

I havent posted on this subject before now as I have been lost for words and have been expecting the worst. Fabs current condition of being taken off the ventilator and inotropes and been awake and speaking a few words is amazing. You dont win many of these cases, and my hope for him has now soared.
