  1. Not gossip, but wouldn't surprise me if Paris doesn't rock back up here on loan. Not in the Brentford Cup squad tonight so presumably still recovering. Evatt was talking about waiting for players hoping to get a higher level (and not). Not sure where he's playing in this team/formation though if he comes back.
  2. I didn't renew mine as I don't want to spend every tuesday and wednesday travelling the length and breadth of the country.
  3. Play off final in 99 another insipid performance this time against Watford 0-2, that still rankled until this year's debacle. For pure humiliation the Stoke 5-0 (I thought we had a good chance) and the United 6-0 (capitulated in the last 20 minutes) take some beating.
  4. Couple of tasty sentences this afternoon. John Honey, 25, of Park Grove, Hull, who pleaded guilty to violent disorder, racially aggravated criminal damage of a BMW, as well as damaging nine other cars, and three charges of burglary, has been jailed for four years and eight months. Meanwhile, David Wilkinson, 48, of Lorraine Street, Hull, who pleaded guilty to violent disorder, racially aggravated criminal damage and attempted arson, has been sentenced to six years in prison.
  5. A few other memories came to me overnight. Freddie Bobic hatrick vs Ipshite in 2002. Relegation 6 pointer. Okochja vs West Ham Stuart Holden vs Blackburn in 2010 Bergsson 35 yarder on Boxing Day 1997
  6. The way my brain works means I’m hopeless at this sort of stuff. When people on here say they remember game X and player Y from 4 years ago and we were playing in our third kit, it amazes me. I reckon I have attended over 1000 of our games though. So a lot to remember. Aside from the obvious games that others have quoted I remember The August 76 pre-season Anglo Scottish cup game at Burnley. I got isolated from my mates and got jumped by a Clarets mob on the way to the game. We lost 1-0. Never liked them! The Away game at United in 78/79 when Frankie followed up his double at home with a double at OT in our 1-2 win. Have to mention the April 78 Blackburn win, Frankie again. Looked it up, scored at the Rovers end from a Roy Greaves (RIP) through pass. 27.8k on of which at least 15k must have been Wanderers fans. Do remember parking half way to Tockholes and the evening walk to the ground.

Out for 3 months apparently, some fall/some toe.

FFS falling down stairs. Put some proper shoes on lad instead of walking round in bare feet or socks.
  9. Was a shit show. Sound was OK, but picture quality was 1980’s quality and the f*ck up at the end laughable (but I wasn’t laughing at the time). Will give it another chance otherwise it’s Wanderers TV via the VPN for me.

In. Expecting a line up something like Southwood Tu Tu Forrester Forino Johnston Iredale Morley Matete Lolos ( if fit) Vic Dan Hopefully Dempsey and Randell on the bench.
  11. Having a mare so far.
  12. No, IE said this week that Johnston wasn't quite ready for a league game.
  13. Conway to Crewe on a season long loan. Good move for him.
  14. But £250k of that was on receipt of his 1st England cap.
  15. But as many as Dan?
  16. 8 First team players started the B Team friendly at Stoke today. Dion scoring again. Still no sign of Dempsey or Jones. https://www.bwfc.co.uk/news/b-team-friendly-report-stoke-city-u21s-1-wanderers-b-1
  17. Luton came down with a £40m parachute. McAtee despite never starting would have been on a decent Prem wage, I guess Luton paid most of his wages at Barnsley. As @Rival Son has said McAtee will want a good whack. Didn’t IE mention last week he only wanted players who were motivated to play for us and not just money, suspect this was aimed at McAtee.
  18. Matheson, Khumbeni and Conway will go out on loan, the first two may even be sold for small fees. If we add to midfield, Morley will go, can also see Jones going to somewhere like Wrexham if we bring in another RWB. Coleman will presumably go as well. After that Williams and Iredale most vulnerable if we add another LWB. Still plenty of opportunity to improve the squad in terms of quality, before you get to our core assets.
  19. Article in The Sunday Times Business section about the new Sky deal for the EFL. Neil interviewed and featured at the beginning and end. Here’s the link for those interested, hopefully not behind a paywall. https://www.thetimes.com/article/9550262b-3091-4a4a-8d4a-3aff32a85c78?shareToken=da031dfec943da2737760e8d97d998d2
  20. We need a separate thread where we can discuss separate threads.
  21. Surprised the Pies didn’t beat them to it.
  22. Just checked this. It says each season, which is a surprise to me. Glad you asked. Investor Privileges As well as annual interest payments and the possibility of an additional Championship Bonus, a unique set of exclusive investor privileges are being offered with the Wanderers Bonds at different investment levels.
