This is an odd one, can't get much game time at Charlton. But O'Rourke is more ITK than most.

Think I've mentioned on here before, my Aunt was the landlady of the LJ during the 70s, 80s and a good part of the 90's. Not much to the pub but she knew how to keep and pour a decent pint. Think 70% of the turnover was weekday lunchtimes from the busineses around there. Loads of competition in those days as well. But loads now closed on Lever Street, Tanners Arms, Uncle Toms Cabin to name a few. LJ was my regular calling point on the way to Burnden Park. She was landlady of the long gone Rothwell Street Tavern for years before that.

Transfers to move the needle?
Played for WBA this season so can’t play on loan for anyone else. Can he play for a 3rd team if he is signed permanently?

Exeter City (A)
Just landed at our holiday cottage still buzzing after that finish. Whilst I thought we played well first half and they were dogshit, we seem to have lost our scoring touch. Santos was well off his game but their goal was down to Baxter. Really wobbled then with no forward urgency for 15 mins but fair play they stuck at it. Can’t really comment on either of our goals as you can see f*ck all at the other end stood in a 5 step cow shed. As others have said Johnston has come back a different player, his passing is woeful. Tommo in mediocre form as well and another yellow. Must be on about 8 now. Lolos needs to up his game as well. Hopefully Sheehan and Toal back soon although Forrester was OK.

Mobile signal
There all bit shit when "22000" are on. I'm on EE, in the East and no signal at all at HT.

Mobile signal
Vodafone have a very high spec configuration opposite the stadium near Keogh's. EE and 3 are on the stadium but old spec and since 3 put a new mast on the corner near Barnstormers it interferes with the stadium mast. EE also have an old spec mast in the Industrial estate which also interferes with the stadium mast. Consequently Voda or any service carried over Voda will have the best service in the ground.

Charlie Wright
Used to do his shopping on Bolton market when he was a player. Can’t see any current day player shopping there. My mate’s uncle had a stall and Charlie gave my mate a pair of keepers gloves - he’s still got them. From memory Charlie took over in goal from Alan Boswell and Barry Siddall took over from him.

Sadly passed away aged 86. Was a great servant to the club. RIP. 88 appearances as a Goalkeeper between 1971-1973 and 44 games as Manager in 1985.

Transfers to move the needle?
Kioso, Fossey and Bradley were better than any of our current wing backs. Definitely going backwards in terms of quality.

Transfers to move the needle?
Morley is not staying on loan at Wycombe "Aaron is a player we are pleased has got what he needed to out of the loan. If they want to keep him, they need to make us a really significant offer. From our perspective, he just won’t stay there on loan. He will recall him and he will be part of our team and our squad unless they offer us an offer we think meets his valuation. Then, we can look at other things. For me, it is really clear that if they want to keep Aaron, a bit like we do, we have to negotiate and pay for players’ quality. Aaron has been fantastic for them. I have told them our valuation and now it is down to them to either meet it or not."

Transfers to move the needle?
I understand his options are limited in January but not sure that's the way it works. We may have agreed a price with them at the start of his loan. We could force his price up by threatening to recall him. They didn't look promotion material on last nights showing without him. Ultimately his value is what the 2 clubs agree. FWIW I reckon your £250k isn't that wide of the mark but we may want a sell on clause (he's only 24 and could improve).

In. Doing a few days in Cornwall straight after. Exeter's a nice place and ground very central, but was another no show in the second half last season.

The Swiss owners are too distracted with other things to focus on our current situation and that massive War Chest isn’t coming anytime soon. Commodities trader Trafigura is coming under heightened scrutiny by some of its lenders after a series of scandals hit earnings and dented the company’s value. The privately held group uncovered a “massive problem” at its Mongolian oil division this year, which cost it $1.1bn and contributed to a steep decline in profits and dividend payouts. It is the second such issue to hit Trafigura in two years after it said in 2023 that it had been the victim of a $600mn nickel fraud. (FT)
