think NL team selection was probably an attempt to play quicker on the deck but it backfired with Mills & co deciding to launch
everything into the air to our midget forwards (though ALF made a decent fist of it).Feeney has run out of steam & would have been
dropped by now if we had other realistic options , our midfield is light & Blackpool effectively crowded out Bannen & Danns although both cannot be faulted for lack of effort also too many youngsters in the team can be a risk Vela had a dodgy start but he's got balls
that boy & keeps going , Mills was at his slapdash worst & mcarthy wasn't great either but I think we should keep him if we can
Ream was his usual indecisive self some people see that as quality I don't & he cant defend for toffee , but will probably be in the running for player of the season! .Lennon certainly has his work cut out build a solid championship side let alone a promotion chasing one
Basically more buildings around the ground , presumably to make the club a more attractive proposition to a potential buyer ie
adds capital value ,,,,,,,,,,,,not sure who is paying for the construction though
A better side than Brighton would have punished us far too much space down our rightside, Feeney going off probably did is a favour even though McNaughton looked a bit rusty .Christ we miss Pratley ...still 3pts was all that mattered!
Think Trotter did well at least he tries to move the play foreard & not backwards like Spearing. He may be taking Pratleys place as the scapegoat player unfortunately. Well impressed with Vela & Clough & NL for having the gonads to play them.I also would prefer Moxey at LB never been that impressed with Ream (defensively)
As far as Spearing's concerned he was a classic big club reject , hefty fee & wages but no better than a championship workhorse like Quinn at Sheff Utd
Available at a third of Spearings fee but heyho touted bigtime on here as a guddon ......my arse
1973 lost 0-1 against Luton ........39556 , typical really big crowd & we lost (FA CUP 5th round)
same season that we played Cardiff three times (last replay at the hawthorns e for b & Stuart Lee scored the only goal)
Bullard presumably the Hull makeweight( even though he's a knees up merchant) on the commentary team all of whom blew smoke up arsenals jacksie for the whole 90 mins .Brings back memories of our premiership days & those 'unbiased' commentators.
Hull were pisspoor though
Freedman was on a different planet to the rest of us .His team selection & tactics delusional his only chance of sucess was the infernal bingo machine & revolving loan door.
Coyle was just tactically niave
Problem might be that we do really well (imo that would be top ten) & Lennon gets poached in the summer , after all he is top drawer.
In any case we were nailed on for relegation so he has already reversed the downward spiral.
Grateful for that even if it doesn't pan out to the optimum.
Someone I knew once e-mailed Megson regarding his team selection in a rude/ abusive manner. Megson replied calling him an ignorant pillock .I have to say Megson was spot on with
his assessment ....& he went up a couple of notches in my estimation
Massive result in the great scheme of things .
Weakened team due to injuries .
.
Perfect excuse for a defeat for motiveless players ......................not any more !!
Well done ML long may it continue.
By the end of the season our average will be higher than the dingles as it has for the last couple of seasons
....whoopee!!
as if it really matters Bournemouth are top of the Championship & bottom of the 'gate ' league .
All I know having watched my team for over forty years our support is what it is, we are an enclave in a sea of shite
COYWM.
