The problem was - i think - was that he was the one taken off against Blackpool to correct the mistake that Dougie made in his formation. I don't think he was particularly poor in that game. Just that most people assumed he was being dragged off cos he was having a poor game.

I was not there so can't comment on specifics. But compare it to this time last year it seems to be chalk and cheese. A large number of changes still managed to pull out a result and from what Ian Dowie was saying on sky although Shrewsbury caused a few problems we were relatively comfortable for most of the game. It was good to see the "fringe" players get a game. It seems that Ream was shaky at the start but settled down. The wingers did well with them both scoring. Craig Davies had a number of chances but couldn't convert. Perhaps needs that one goal to get going. Anyway who do want in the next round I'll go for Bury at Home

Apart from the fumble in the first minute I did not think Bogdan did much wrong. He caught and punched everything properly after that. As for his punting out to the left wing. He was doing the same against Betis so i don't think it is wholly his decision but a tactic. A couple of knobheads behind me were screaming abuse at him after that first fumble. Calling him all the names under the sun. I had to have a go back. Can't believe people got so worked up in the first 30 seconds. They are in for a long season.....

Every season I go to the home friendly and then wish I hadn't bothered. Only decided at quarter past 7 to dash round. Its only a tenner. I though we looked lightweight in midfield but Hall and Tierney worked quite well together at times. Should have had a goal very early on Hall (or was it Medo) through but keeper spread himself well. Knight look lethargic at times. Hopefully that was just "pre season and not really trying too hard" attitude. I did here him shout and point a few times (Captain material) Their first goal would not have been scored in a league game. Their player rode a challenge that would have been 10 time harder. Subs came on very late and looked lively but not enough time to impact. Their number 10 was a class above. Overall typical pre-season match which initially made me think we are completely and utterly shite and then I think. . . . . . .it was only a friendly
