  1. September 11th today, not heard much in the way of the usual memorials etc I’ve only had news on the radio mind so maybe it is still going on and coverage elsewhere just somewhat over shadowed by yesterday?
  2. We all got an alarm on our phones on Sunday as a “test “… Tin foil hat time
  3. I just used that post for the image in relation to the story. doesn’t matter.
  4. Hence why I stated I’ve only posted it for the image. calm down not twisted anything , just find it ironic that a bloke protesting about immigrants and the implied “ coming over here being a threat to our kids “ is himself a convicted of abusing kids. Don’t be so defensive, not everything posted is an argument against what you have said, I even stated that.
  5. Quite ironic https://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/crime/anthony-styles-anti-migrant-protest-b2822134.html ( only replying to you as it’s the image that’s ironic )

  7. And less said about reform and their preference the better 😁
  8. You know this place affects your mind when the first thing you do is to compare that to the hanky chart…
  9. Surely this would keep everyone happy?
  10. If you go to The Mall in London, that looks resplendent with its perfect union jacks all hung exactly the same. that looks ace and a proper example of displaying national pride. Meanwhile Bury rd looks like someone ordered the Shankhill Rd on Temu. it looks crap no matter what the reasoning for it
  11. To an extent but we had more power whilst in the EU , to both insist on tighter control and have a presence , ie the border was in French soil. as you say though, it was never any different as stated before , the boats are only a small proportion of the overall problem you only have to look at Ireland to see that there no difference being in ir out of the Eu when it comes to issues of problems with immigration
  12. There’s loads of people completely obsessed now, obviously it’s an issue but there’s some right loons. a good example, there’s a place near me, a church, used to be St John’s, ( next to the Tansy for anyone that knows the area ) it’s been re purposed as a church for the Syriac Christians , it’s full every week and they can be quite colourful outside . this branch of Christianity , well this church least, takes its congregation from those of an Indian / south Asian ethnicity and its full every week all day Sunday . talking to a lad in the pub, Him “ what do you reckon to this next door, changed it to one of their places now, can’t go anywhere in Bolton without seeing a mosque “ me “ it’s not a mosque , it’s still a Christian church, just a different branch “ Him “ nah, have you seen it? Full of Muslims “ “ no, they’re Christians “ “ well theres a lot of Muslim in there every week “ he meant brown/ Indian Christians , but to him they were Muslim immigrants, probably illegal and had absolutely no concept that he was wrong . It was amazing, I gave up . He thinks he’s got a mosque in his area still simply because the people who go there are brown . he’s enraged about something that’s not even there.
  13. In the days before toilets were a requirement on sites , perching on machine buckets , back of scrapers and in ditches was all very accepted . A traffic cone , cut off at the top and turned upside down then pushed into the spoil pile was almost luxurious, especially if you timed it so the grab came to clear the spoil just after 😁
  14. I did it and got two weeks , 1 st week some scrotes who I thought guilty straight away then innocent during their defence , you’re right about the jury being sent out and how simple things can change what you think was obvious to thinking the other way . our trial had been going on for two days when one of the jurors suddenly let the court clerk know that one of the accused was actually her cousin , so she had to be dismissed and then there was a days deliberations about was it a re trial or carry on with 11. whether it looks obvious to everyone on here, once in the court and you get told what to ignore and what to accept it can be pretty hard to get unanimous based on peoples understanding of what they can accept and such like. I hope they get 100 years, but will need to be done properly by the book in a court, not on all our gut feelings watching the video .
  15. Aye, technology already there for vehicles , was actually wondering why it isn’t utilised more and came to the conclusion in my own head that it must be as it would be going off in trees as the bus went by , but yes if it was on the bridge and it was that that triggered the alarm , ie a sensor on the bus that picked up the sensor on the bridge that would be a good idea, along with drivers remembering they’re in a double decker and reading road signs 😄
  16. Detectors would be a good idea, however there’s also the chance they’d go off in the low hanging trees you see them twatting on various routes but can’t see why it can’t give a warning at least. can only think this is down to lack of concentration, maybe a driver used to doing that route in a single decker etc , you can’t miss the fact you are going under a bridge
  17. 94 dwellings including flats on what was 2 football pitches and a small club house at what was Wyresdale , all timber frames , insulation and single brick up the outside. Not a breeze block in site ! to be fair they don’t look too bad, miles better than the ones built at St Osmunds former site, which look like a stage set or something. Wyresdales new pitch set up looks ace too , but it’s not in Bolton any longer .
  18. Another one today in Newton Heath https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/c1e0xw1jd3xo.amp
  19. Quite ironic that decedents of the plantation, who arrived in boats and didn’t assimilate into the culture, took all the jobs and houses and natives basic rights are now burning effigies of boat people they say the same of . The bonfires have always been quite distasteful in the sectarianism, the KAT and other displays wouldn’t be tolerated here I don’t think or in most places There was an occasion were an orange man climbed up to the top of one to retrieve a statue of the Virgin Mary that had been stolen from a Catholic Church and returned it to the church and went public with his condemnation , a brave thing to do , showing there is a glimmer of decency and hope , but short in supply .
  20. Suppose you have to take things that will be in short supply wherever you can get them , no matter how tenuous 😉
  21. No. Because they weren’t murdered by British soldiers, but you know that . it’s not top trumps of crimes mate , whataboutery at its finest that.
  22. I can categorically state ,some soldiers who served in Northern Ireland were guilty of behaviour that could be found as a crime whilst in the pursuit of their duty. There is plenty of evidence.Vast majority didnt and were in a difficult position, it’s for those ones , the ones that just did their tour , the ones that potentially committed crimes should be investigated for as much as the victims , anybody who supports the reputation of the army should want it too as it tarnishes the whole lot if it’s its seen as a whitewash to say otherwise is what is ignorant of the facts to blindly support someone just because they were in the British army is naive at best . this isn’t anti army or anything political , I get the “ terrorists released “ argument to an extent but the fact is , they were found guilty , served whatever sentence before being cut short, rightly or wrongly some members of the armed forces behaved in a way not fit of the reputation during the troubles and have yet to be held to account . I’m not talking about situations where say a soldier felt threatened and reacted in wrong way in hindsight ,or even mistakes , they shouldn’t be punished , as I say they were in a difficult hell hole at times, I’m talking deliberate acts with severe consequences that some engaged in .

  24. Fucking pedestal standing? The irony of that mate given the tone of that response doesn’t say or claim I’m superior opinion to anyone, it’s a fucking slaughter was my point , if you agree with the reasons for it or not doesn’t change the fact that it is one. and I know Gaza wasn’t being run as a democracy either, Jesus , doesn’t mean democracies should resort to same . my God that’s a pretty weak response tbh and resorting to the old “ you think your superior “ jibe .
  25. Doesn’t matter what word it technically is called , Holocaust or Genocide Think most support Isreals right to exist without threats of terrorism , and even their right to react , but fuck me what they’re doing in Gaza , as a so called democracy, aided and abetted by western governments is a fucking slaughter , fuck me lads, anyone trying to claim Isreal has any justification here is in cloud cuckoo land or on the wind up .
