Can't comment really Like many didn't get there until 20mins before kick off due to the bus Shame really as it seems a good idea but needs a little more coordination - doesn't take bamber gascoigne to realise that if you open the bars at 12 but the buses don't get there until 2:40 then it aint going to be as succesful as it should be.

Its not looking good, although a little early to judge. I did think Megson was starting to assemble a solid squad with the good (if not overpriced) signings of Steinsson, Muamba and Cahill. The jury is still out on Shittu and Elmander. The main worry is that we,ve let most of our creative players go (Anelka, Diouf, Stelios, Campo) and the only creative player we've signed is the unproven Riga - I hope Elmander turns out to be a good un otherwise its a long wait until Jan.

From what I've seen of Elmander and his goal record I would have preferred Crouch but Megson must see something in him. ?10m+ can't be a gamble - just hope it pays off, at 27 it's gonna be hard to get our money back if he is a flop.

I think the squad will be i good shape if we get our main transfer targets: Dawson - Tottenham Muamba - Birmingham Jussi Gardner Replacement for Anelka and some squad players:- Kewell, Solano, Marcus Bent etc Although the hardest transfer will be trying to find a replacement for Anelka

This just brings the level of the Premier League down to fit our average youngsters - this is not a solution. The problem is coaching our youngsters up to the ages of 13 14. We didn't even have a school football team when I left - compare our youth sports system to the American model of school sports and its laughable.

I don't see how any of this could happen - surely Gartside is now at the end of his tenure after a series of hugely public mistakes. Only the former Iraqi communcations officer would be a more delusional character. If Gartside is still at the club next season I will be very surprised.

Better to have a good manager with an ego than an average championship manager who is out of his depth Basically it came down to either Allardyce or Gartside staying at the club, well, we've paid for that one!

Selling Anelka in Jan without having a replacement lined up for our top (only) goalscorer is the worst mistake made at this club. Yes we made ?15m but think of the ?30m+ in revenue lost next season by being in the Championship. Even keeping the tempremental striker until the end of the season and letting him go cheaper would have made more sense. He may have thrown his teddies but surely if we arranged a deal for him to go in the summer it would have passified him for a few months while he scored the much needed goals to keep us in the prem! Megson and Gartside need to go even if we survive I bet all the Allardyce haters are starting to feel a little embarrassed now - at least the guy had ambition (if a little too self serving at times)

Apologies for not knowing the exact financial details behind the club as you obviously do but I thought I was merely making a point on an internet forum not submitting the clubs financial statements to the tax office. Interesting point about the primary school maths though. When I was a lad ?20 million minus ?5 million wasn't ?8 million anyway!!!
