Settle An Argument With A Wiganer
i was in there end boxing day 84 along with many more. remember an offlicence being pillaged in town centre and bolton everywhere on the way up there. lad i knew by face then had his jeans ripped off almost when he was bit by a police dog. i was chucked out when they scored and it kicked off and i was punched off a couple of friendly scouse coppers on that waste land outside for good measure. remember plenty of lads were going on to ewood to watch blackburn v leeds as we were an early kick off.

the prospect of that high pitched shrieking noise their fans make at every decision is enought to disssuade those who've heard it before plus that high pitched screeching noise their fans make at every decision may dissuade a few others

Support
went yesterday taking my 6 year old daughter and thoroughly enjoyed it. i know our history over crowds and it aint going to change especially now with current form, finances, post christmas and 2 cat a games etc. i did give the crowd numbers some thought though as i was sat in the wsl near the away fans. These 'great' supporters from sunderland were booing there own team in the first half on occasion and i thought this may become a monkey on their teams back. i struggled to make out what they were singing most of the time and also wondered if their non north east contingent/foreign players would understand a word of it. as it turned out the game changed but i don't think it was anything to do with the crowd numbers, their noise or them booing. they made a tactical change as we did and they had a good spell in the game. me singing in time with a drum wouldn't have spurred on marvin sordell to beat two and fire in a rasping shot to the bottom corner. on a side note there were 3 or 4 young lads having the craic with the away fans who were surrounded by the orange warriors and kicked out my daughter was saying they've done nothing wrong dad. normally sit in the nsl so first time seeing these bully boy bouncer types at work. seriously are the mean looks and aggressive stance needed? funny how they only remove scrawny kids from the stands and not one their own size. be interesting to see how they wade in next saturday to the away support.

Bloke Ive just been talking to got cracked on saturday and he aint one for trouble. He had kids in tow and rang the club yesterday saying he weren't taking his kids again unless he knew there'd be police on duty. He was put through to the safety officer, Ray or Roy somebody who was very sympathetic and was genuinely upset about the day. He told him that if GMP say there are going to be police on duty then that is that he has no input to this at all.- Campo
