when you compare prices of football to any other pastime you really don't get value for money for instance 32 quid to watch birmingham game i know we won but its still 90 (well not 90 really) more like 60 mins of enjoyment . put that against the cost of other pastimes i;e golf 18 holes for about 20 quid lasts about 4 hours snooker about 6 quid an hour for a table =5 hours drinking if you say about 3 pints an hour at 3 quid a pint on average = 3 and 1/2 hours there's probably more examples but these 3 just sprang to mind (especially the drinking)
  5. just so no balls does'nt think we're all sexist
  6. anybody lookin for a drink near ground try the wellington on livesey branch road then you can walk down to ground and do a little pub run of about 5 pubs before hitting the stadium
  7. yea likewise its my 1st game this season (i'll say it shit fan before anybody else does )aint been on w ways for a bit. figure you can't really comment if you aint been to the game but from what i've read previously was expecting to see a right load of shite but must admit was pleasantly surprised with some of our passing we looked pretty slick in parts but as some have said defensively we look very sloppy if we don't get that sorted there is no chance of us going up this season
  8. likewise jules at this moment in time not getting one due to wanting to play golf more often get more of a buzz out of that nowadys which tells you something but will probly end up goin to most games besides i would'nt be surprised if they started doin shit games at a fraction of the cost of a ticket so you probly wont lose out so much if you pay game by game
  9. to change the mood a little if the worst happens can you honestly say how you will react . i live in blackburn and i watched the match on telly in the pub only 10 min walk from the ground after the match a couple of lads came in they were in their early twenties i looked at their faces and i swear i thought they were gonna burst into tears i know you see it on telly every year at this time of the season but when its right there in front of you it somehow hits home i genuinely felt sorry for em i really hope that none of us have to go through that on sunday i really wish the players could actually see what it means to fans
  10. anybody know were you can watch the game next week on foreign telly or owt
  11. totally gutted must agree with a few on here about m davies he was fuckin gash today and has been for the last few weeks he looks like he just can't be arsed and before anybody says its because he's not being played in his best position thats a joke no matter where you play you've still got to do the basics if pratley's fit next week i'd play him and don't tell me we'd not have any creativety because we aint had any for weeks of him
  12. just wanna be in the pub after with a smile on me face and not just because i'm drunk
  13. lessons ! lessons ! bubba watson would laugh at you mind you all me and him have in common is we're both left handed but thanks for the reccomendations will give it a try
  14. that could be the problem got a mate in the pub who says he'll go for a game with me and give me a few pointers i did'nt do too badly today but god knows how the pro's hit the ball so far with their irons went and did 9 holes today it was only a small course called highfield near wheelton but its a tricky one went round in 41 its a par 30 so did'nt think it was to bad
  15. yea me too aint got an handicap yet just trying to get used to hitting the ball consistently mitton fold inbetween blackburn and whalley do the buggies thing but you'll need em because its hilly as fuck by the way if any body can give me a tip to stop me topping the ball would be grateful i'm terrible with my irons all right with my driver tho

must admit i've only recently started playing golf but i really enjoy it to be honest i get more enjoyment out of that than goin to the football nowadays don't know if thats because its a new hobby or not but i get bit miffed now if i can't get a game for whatever reason .is there a few people on here who play
  17. chillo replied to jazza's topic in Behind The Stands
how much did you pay for you're tickets
  18. right here's my tune (well everyone one else has ad a do) to my old mans a dustman now god he had a football team but the midfield were crap he saw muamba playin and said i'm avin that he tried to take the player but muamba he said nay coz my heart belongs to bolton and at bolton it will stay
  19. must admit i'm nervous as fuck as well got a knot in my stomach that you only get when you find out you're birds been knocking you're best mate off (so i'm told) but the thing is i'd accept that if it meant a win for us every cloud and all that
  20. better get used to em their contracted to be played there for the next 10 years or so .the grounds got to be payed for somehow even if it means 2 teams from the north travelling 200 and odd miles to watch their teams play . the fans are the least of the FA s concern
  21. i go on me own used to go with my son but he started uni and admitted it felt like a chore sometimes but havin a season ticket does'nt really give you a choice financhally its not as good and the football dont help but ya can allways find someone in the pub to talk to after the game after all we've all got something in common (no not depression)
  22. i aint seen the article but if it says what i think then whats the harm we might as well have a go at them blackburn turned up last week and never even tried to make a game of it and still got beat sometimes its better to have the attitude of you think you're good well today you're gonna have to prove it and fuck you we're not lying down to quote an old proverb (better to have tried and failed than never tried at all)
  23. i there's nothing quite like standing in the old railway end (pre supermarket days obviously) getting pissed wet through because there's no room left under the burger van canopy then pulling you're train ticket out you're pocket and watch it fall to bits in you're hand oh such fun
  24. chillo replied to roybarker's topic in Terrace Talk
dont think you can put it all down to midfield just not enough players doin their job on the day its simple really if more of you;re players do their job better than the opposition you win the game (well thats my theory)
  25. i think you're stretching it a bit when you say playing i dont think rovers even got goin just there to make up numbers , i mean we complain about lack of effort but that was unforgivable ,if our lot play like that next week i'd feel humiliated . they might have world class players but that dont give you the right to three points just for turnin up
