  1. Bang on. You only have to look at the first Gulf War to see how a big but outdated ground force gets on when the other side has total air superiority. The North's artillery etc along the border would cause a lot of damage but they'd have no chance of winning a wider war even if the Yanks were busy elsewhere
  2. This has been bubbling under for months, it's just that the Express have only just noticed/decided to pay attention and, being the Express, have portrayed a diplomatic row as imminent WW3/apocalypse It's like saying Britain and Spain are on the brink of starting WW3 over Gibraltar. Disputed territory, coastguards have occasional skirmishes, both have powerful allies etc etc
  3. At no point did the post you quoted mention it being lucky. He just (correctly) said that anyone thinking this is all some master plan coming together is kidding themselves Now who's making things up?
  4. Had to turn that off, Wright is a tit.
  5. That's precisely what you were doing. Two swallows don't make a summer and two decent results don't make Freedman a good manager. He's saved himself from the sack for now, nothing more... if we go on another of our ridiculous winning streaks like last season then I'll be more convinced that it's finally clicked
  6. I didn't say I didn't enjoy it, in fact I said the exact opposite after the match, but for folk to be giving it 'I told you so' about Freedman after 2 decent results is insanely premature
  7. The reason he was overlooked for captain is because he was mentally weak. Say what you will about John Terry (and he is a prize twat) but he's captain material, a proper leader. To play the race card 7 years later to try and drum up publicity for his book is pathetic
  8. You do realise we're still 18th? 2 decent results/performances don't excuse the months of shite that preceded them. If we go on a brilliant run between now and the end of the season we might scrape a mid-table finish which is still a pretty shit season so let's hold off on ordering that Dougie statue
  9. oooooh I enjoyed that!

The fact they're shite doesn't mean they're not bigger names
  11. Partaken tonight and managed to avoid grim food combinations. Now run out of balti mix though so watch this space...

    He is Richard Littlejohn, essentially
  13. Bloody hell, where'd that performance come from? Thoroughly deserved

I get fuck all... I work for my dad and he won't even give me time off for his own birthday. Bastard (I jest, of course)

Bear in mind we've already established you approve of beating up women for 'persistent protest'. I'm sure her Maj would be proud...

Fair enough, I just find it a bit daft. I'm an atheist republican so why would I ask God to save the Queen? I'd happily sing Land of Hope and Glory or something like that but not GSTQ
  17. Pie Eater replied to HomerJay's topic in Behind The Stands
Why should someone who doesn't support the monarchy sing it? I know I'd never sing it. The queen and England aren't the same thing.
  18. No idea why that made me laugh so much but it has haha Oh, and to join in with the thread: Japanese people don't actually have pixellated genitalia
  19. Loads of brass outside McDonalds on that same road and all, police didn't seem remotely arsed
  20. I was a mess the day after, mixing beer with the painkillers the local quack gave me sent me a long way west... Wouldn't have missed it for the world though, despite Madrid being a shithole
  21. Amazing how quick getting twatted with a baton sobers you up though. My back was a right state the day after
  22. I suppose you're having a good chuckle at the folk getting shot in Ukraine and all? Bloody serial protestors standing up for their rights, what a set of twats
  23. Rival ultra groups, I think. Happens a fair bit on the continent, rival ultras who support the same club but despise each other
  24. Just stick the stick the url up to whatever you're trying to link
