Presumably that is another bit of poor reporting then As said above, the original world record that Keeley broke yesterday was set on 3 March 2002, the day Keeley was born. Not a great fan of the BBC but I don't they said Keeley set it on her own Birthday. The previous world record holder was later banned as drug cheat, so not surprised it took 24 years to break it. But when the ladies win the euros the uneducated retards amongst us say it's rubbish football and they should be pushing a hoover around the living room. In 1983 Seb Coe was nearly 11 seconds quicker than Hodgkinson was tonight. Fkn shit that Keely. Edited March 22 by Underpants Quote
MalcolmW Posted March 22 Posted March 22 But the best performance came from the American men's 800m winner, aged 17 and a quarter. Quote

But I'm not on about the financial aspect. The point I was lazily making was that most of us have accepted women in sport like with tennis and athletics because they had their own circuit or championships, so to speak, before our generation came along. There might have been at the time but now there are no ridiculous and misogynistic comparisons to the mens side. Unlike with the big 3 in England now, who are relatively new to bigger audiences. I'm not a golf fan but the women's game has grown massively from a similar sexist start. Quote

And plenty men ran the distance. Quote
