XL Bully Dogs

Not surprised that they're getting banned tbh, the stats don't lie.

Just curious if the breed does get banned by the end of the year, what happens to the many thousands of XL Bully dogs out there? One massive cull or something?

  • It is amazing how many bad owners own these type of dogs, all Labrador owners must be brilliant. I think having the desire to have one of these, other than to guard your scrap yard, should automatical

They really are proper characters. I have had 2 , completely different make up. The first a proper gentleman and without doubt the best dog I will ever own . He saved me from myself when I was a young

  • I get round that by not going for a run

Hopefully.

They definitely need banning, but no doubt you'll get the usual folk talking bollocks and saying "There aren't any bad dogs, just bad owners" - to a point that can be true, but not when you're talking about this type of dog.

Having said that, I'm not sure I'd be happy about a mass cull of "innocent" animals - so fuck knows what the answer is. These things certainly shouldn't be kept as pets

They will have to kept on a lead and muzzled at all times in public spaces.

About time

I've just seen someone on Twitter claim it's dog racism 😂

My missus is a vet and will tell you that breeds like this are hard wired to attack.

Yes, the owners can (and some do) keep them under control but they are bred to be aggressive. All dogs can attack, of course, but the chances of it happening with these is so much higher that it’s ridiculous.

Some vets will no longer treat them.

The only reason people keep them is a “badge”. Look at my dog, he’s well hard.

Correct decision.

863 XL Bully dogs for sale on just one well known site.  https://www.pets4homes.co.uk/sale/puppies/american-bully/

XL Bully's are basically American Bully's on steroids though, aren't they? A different breed/variant? I'd throw them all in the same mincing machine anyway.

Quite. You don't see "gangstas" with fluffy little pooches.

Twat owners, with potentially twatty dogs.

I saw an interview with a chap who has one, and after getting it, he accepts they should be banned.

Readily accepted they aren't as easy to train/control as others- even others that also have a slightly tarnished reputation.

Works for the owners too if we’re not allowed to cull them as well.

I love dogs. Hate the thought of a cull but quite honestly nothing good will come from having thousands of these out there.

Cull the lot and stop them breeding.

There are plenty of other dogs folk can have that won’t rip your face off.

We have a cunt of a dog, a miniature dachshund. When he was younger he nipped me and our youngest so I said he had to go. The missus and our youngest pleaded to keep him (even though they were now wary of him) so we spent over a grand on a dog trainer which did definitely help. To be fair, some of the training was for us as a family as well but one thing stuck with me, the fella said never breed our dog, some things are just inherent.

Get the younger ones trained up and used as guard dogs. Be a Shame to cull any.

I reckon Johnny1990 would want rid of the lot

I wonder if there are stats on how many labradors or cockerpoos have ripped someone’s face off vs these fighting breeds?

Gut feeling is that not many labradors have tried eating children.

Drug dealers dogs

The choice of dog is a reflection of its owner. I’ve only had Border Collies. Intelligent, hard working and faithful. 😊

Sure I read somewhere that Jack Russells are one of the worst for biting humans.

Wouldn't surprise me, our Teela got sent to a farm for a holiday to calm down because of that. It was around 1992, she must be delayed getting back I guess.

A few years ago Labradors were the breed that bit more than any other but I'm sure that's just because there's so many more of them.

If it's like the ban on pit bulls, there won't be a cull. Owners will have to have insurance, have them muzzled in public, never off lead etc.

New next door neighbour has one. It's possibly 'just' a bully rather than an XL. Powerful looking dude though.

Jack Russell's are snappy bastards just like my dachshund. Thing is, I know he is a cunt so I don't let him near anyone. Whenever we are out on a walk he avoids all humans and other dogs. If we are around other folk at a cafe etc he is muzzled.

I can handle a miniature dachshund but one of these fuckers weighs more than I do, fuck that.

I wouldn't trust any dog. Teeth and claws are there for a reason.
