Id be giving JDB a whirl. Try and fill that gaping hole behind the front two.

For me he needs balls into him rather than being behind the front 2 he won’t bang worldies in his work is in and around the box plus who would you drop from midfield

personally I think he will play dan & victor if Charles isn’t fit, I would like to see JDB & Charles together at some point

Posh probably the hardest game to predict out of any, you never know what you're going to get from them. Could be 3-0 or 0-3. If Charles isn't fit I don't see where our goals will come from, bar a set piece or a blunder by them

Although Saturday was nowhere as big a kick as the Wigan game, I still reckon it’ll be at least Thursday evening before I have any enthusiasm for this game. Let’s hope Evatt can earn his corn and pick the team up much quicker than that.

I’m going 1-0 Posh at the minute but that might improve by Friday.

If it helps, and this isn't a dig at Charles because these stats surprise me given how many Charles does score, but...

Last season 17th Dec was the first time Charles scored a goal from open play in a game we won.  Last time he scored a home league goal from open play was v FGR in January.  Since then we've won a lot of home games and course he contributes even when not scoring, but we've had to rely on others to score, except the pen v Derby.  Top home scorer since FGR is Vic with 5, then 2 each for Sheehan, Dempsey and OGs!  7 different defenders have scored 1 each.  So maybe a myth we need Charles to score our goals, I'd agree for away games but not home, not that I can explain why that should be the case.

We haven’t scored a single league goal this season when Charles hasn’t been on the pitch.

That's quite alarming.

Evatt needs to stop bringing him off, then 😉

That's a different conversation - I'm not saying he isn't our best player, but the question was about who could score the goals and the evidence in 2023 is that we haven't relied on him.  Its not like he's been doing loads of assists, off top of my head 2 headers from corners v Lincoln, tap in's v Fleetwood for Vic from winger's crosses?

Have we scored any of our goals without Jones, Dempsey, Sheehan, Santos, Vic, JDC, Williams on the pitch too?  They have all started every game and we haven't scored our goals late after subs have been made, generally.  I want Charles to be fit as much as anyone, I just thought the stats were surprising and offer hope that we can find other ways to score.

not to worry, we've got Vic & Dan, who just "needed a good pre season"

Yes that was always the most optimistic, clutching-at-straws claim that would struggle to stand the test of time

Our players would probably be less tired for matches if Sharon wasn’t sending them to scrape barnacles off her yacht every Friday.
