I'm happy with Oxford's equaliser, Wycombe very much contenders and we've made 7 points on them in a week.  And 7 points on Oxford too.   Could also say the difference between us and Pompey is Re

Excellent win again on the road, hitting our stride now & getting back to full strength so hopefully we can stay consistent through the upcoming dreaded winter months that we don't seem to fancy under Evatt so fingers crossed we'll have turned a corner. Santos dealt with near another everything near his box, Thomason does look better roaming forward more advanced carrying the ball then laying it off for the overlap, real quality goal by Randell who's grown into the role nicely & Dion/Vic worked well together again although should have had more. Gethin did an absolute number on one of their main threats in Blackett-Taylor too which he can build some form back off of. Our main threat was Cogley as it seemed he got in so many dangerous positions overlapping but only seemed to manage to pick out a white shirt in the box once when Thomason chested it & blasted it down the keepers throat but promising signs with both wing backs being two of our main threats. Charlton must be sick of us, won 5 out of 5 against them since returning to L1 but got time for them most their fans seem sound & I do like the Valley

My point was that we were not lucky to concede, I do think shots on target are a decent stat. If they have 0 you ain't going to lose ! At a game I am usually a doom merchant expecting the opposition to score, today we restricted them very well to just one shot on target.

Fair enough, I think my viewpoint is not allowing the quality of the oppositions shots (or luck) to be a factor.  So the long range shots from Carlisle and Wycombe that ended up in our net were great/lucky shots, but we should arguably have closed them down so that their quality/fortune didn't come into play.  Eg marking their players instead of marking space.

But at Port Vale we were supposedly under the cosh in the 2nd half but I never felt like they threatened, I felt like we controlled that game, without breaking sweat, we were just better than them.

Strange that they were above us before that game and it was considered a "tough" game, it was nothing of the sort, and just like Carlisle/Northampton they are all bang out of form, relegation fodder.

On another note, in the last 20 games between them, Reading and Carlisle have won 3, 2 of them were against us.  Annoying or what, especially as we were ahead in both.

2 nil away with the correct subs throughout. What's not to like? Well done Evatt

Just back, we were really good & the only complaint is that we didn't score more but I never thought they were going to catch us.

Everyone played well & can't pick a MOTM but special praise for players who have been criticised, Vic, Randell & Tommo who were all excellent.EIEIEIfuckingO.

If i didnt know better, id say our railways were somewhere between national disgrace and national embarrassment

Avanti have had another shocker

first 30 minutes we were superb, then sat back , again , they had loads of corners , and we were fortunate not to concede , same in the second half , both teams missed chances , 2-2 or 0-5

You dont half chat some shit

The ONLY negative of the game was only scoring 2

Miles better than Charlton

Your mate Alfie May was last seen trying to get out of our centre backs pocket

The plan coming together nicely. My only concern is peaking too early. Within striking distance at Christmas will be good enough for me.

Convinced that the second half of our season will be our most consistent prolonged spell.

Not saying it too loudly just yet but we are going up.

Anyone on the cancelled 19:13 to Wigan choose to get the 20:25 instead of rushing for the 18:25? @jeep? 👀

Also assume Avanti sorted you out onward from Preston @Traf?

Fun and games on the railways, all part of the craic! Although t’wife went to bed half an hour ago, all of four hours after leaving the ground 😂 long away day apparently?! We’ve been home later than this from a home game! 🤣

We got on the 18.25, even got some supplies...

Although I fell asleep for most of the journey 😂

We were at Euston Sainsbury’s before 6pm, don’t know what all the fuss was about 😂 the 20:25 was delayed by 52 minutes although I think they cut that down to about 40 minutes so we’ll be calling it a win, although I’ll still be expecting the Delay Repay email to come today

Third world service at disgraceful prices. Fair play to all who chance their arm with it every away game, you deserve a medal. I've a Blackburn supporting mate who was only going from Poulton le Fylde to Blackburn to a home game yesterday and it turned into a nightmare.

My train into Leeds was cancelled, I could go via another line but the others had to get an a later train that was due in 6 minutes before London trAin was due, that was on time.

Our train was on time but as an earlier one was cancelled it was standing room only , we got 4 of our 5 booked seats but some woman had decided reservations did not apply and refused to move.We also stopped at 2 extra stations to drop off and pick folk up that were due on earlier train

No idea on way back as I was leathered.

Did not realise how good our first goal was yesterday. If City did that the commentators explode .

There was a move in the second half where Morley ended up putting a ball across the box that was just too hard for Vic. If he’d have tapped that in at the back post it would have been up there for our goal of the season - the football was top class.

To be fair there were so many times yesterday where we went through the gears from front to back and Charlton just couldn’t live with us. It’s games like yesterday where you fully understand what Evatt is all about - it’s the games against shithouse teams that sit back where it just doesn’t work the same (but we already knew that).

A good statement that I think mr evatt came out with last week 'I'd rather be the hunter than the hunted' .  I like that.

7 months of a season to go, would be very nice if we sat comfortably in 2nd at Christmas.

Said same last night, would have been about 20 replays and half an hour of analysis on it on Sky

Another one clanged in off the inside of that same post, superb goal.

At the time it kind of felt like it was a corner routine gone wrong gone lucky, but the more you watch it, the more you see how deliberate the whole thing was. The first time pass from GT is perfection.

I genuinely think we’re going to go to Oxford in a few weeks to cement a space in the top two that we won’t relinquish at any point in the rest of the season.

Spot on that.

I'd rather get well clear at the top.

Well capable of it too, I think.

Really hope you are correct

But I'm counting no chicken's yet, after all we are bwfc

All of us would. At the finishing line.

Not while pompey are doing what they're doing.

Gonna be an interesting January (then again arent they all)

Great job yesterday. Less pissing about at the back and we score 2 early goals. According to BBC possession was more even but that doesn’t tell the whole story either. We were in control the whole game.
Baxter is growing in confidence and now looks the part.
