The 2011 cup run may have ended in embarrassment but ending up three rows forward and about 20ft to the right after Chungys last minute header Vs Brum is forever ingrained on my brain and my shins.

How shite was the season after the Wilbraham goal? But that game and moment will live on forever.

  • Lincoln? That can fuck right off The away ST elite wont be able to dump them quick enough

We're always going to struggle if we expect a player to attack and defend at the right level for our expectancy.

As soon as an attack breaks down they're either going to be in the wrong place or were never in the right place.

I reckon our 1st 11 (johnston included) would survive in the championship, but all 11 positions could obviously be improved on. For now the focus is on chasing promotion from L1 and there's not a glaring gap in the side, perhaps a more prolific partner for Dion, that means we have to desperately get Sharons chequebook out.

Possibly the most confident in the team since the Big Sam days.

Im not at all convinced Dion would cut it up there tbh

Some of those championship defenders would eat him for breakfast, watched a championship game other week and can’t remember which team but the back line was made up of big units

That’s fair enough but we all know that we really need a quality LWB because none of Williams, Iredale or Ashworth are really up to it. Randell is the best of those three but still lacking defensively. Hopefully it’s on IE’s list for this window.

Plenty Good enough for this season

We won't be bringing a new LWB in with all those options

Maybe a RWB as we never got the numbers we wanted during the summer in the position

We don't have the budget to buy a championship team in league one like Ipswich did

But with say with Basham after we let him go and went through the leagues with Sheff Utd, did anyone see him being a prem regular?

Maybe recruitment in other areas can make our so so called L1 players more than adequate

A good few of the team that did well for Bournemouth in the PL played under Howe in L2 and L1 as well

No chance, misses far to many chances, especially if he has time to think

Definitely more of an instinct finisher

Hed be better in a counter attacking high line team wouldn't he.

Off the shoulder and away, Vardy style.

Just had a look

12 of Eddie Howes L1 squad from 2012/13 played for them in the PL in 2015/2016 onwards

Could you imagine reading sincey, lusty and redders posting year after year that they couldnt play the league above

I actually think it's the opposite style we'd come across more and struggle with, ones with a bit more pace and intelligence that won't let his harrying about bother them as much.

It's the lumps down at this level that he's having the joy against, forcing errors and running off their shoulder, higher you go less of them you see.

I think he'd be fine though as the secondary striker, pressing and supplying a partner, just need another man up there that's more about being in and around the box with better composure and timing. We'd need to find our own Pukki or Piroe type.

He hasnt got the brain capacity to play as a no 10 for me, all his effort and harrying aside.

Hes a poacher imo.

I want Wigan or Doncaster at home next round. Get it out of the way.

Yes please. Don't think I could bare it if we got Wigan at Wembley.

Or if they stop us getting there in the semi

That wouldn't particularly bother me.

I’m sure I’ve read somewhere but I could have dreamt it that U21 teams can’t play in the final so if Brighton U21 get to the semi and win the losing team gets the final place.

which would render U23 teams particpation in this competition even further down the scale of utterly pointless than it currently is

I've not seen that. (Kind of feel like EFL hopes they don't have to cross that bridge) I know abroad where there's academy teams in the league system that they're not allowed promotion past a certain level no matter where they finish.

Suspect you've dreamt it. Can't find any mention of it anywhere in the rules. https://www.efl.com/documents/efl-trophy-rules/

New one on me, too.

Who did Plymouth play in semi last season?
