There's no doubt he's a very good player, but unfortunately for him there are players who play in his position that are far better. I'd not be surprised if he never makes another England squad again.

That's the crux of it. Palmer, Bellingham, Foden can all play that floating 10 and Gallagher can do it also, with more off-the ball aggression. He's a good player, but he's just simply down the pecking order. Especially off the back of an injury hit season
