Maddison and Ward-Prowse are two players who could have become regular internationals but didn't get the caps when they were at their peak, both now on a decline and have missed the boat IMO.

Other than take free kicks does Ward-Prowse do much else?

Maybe I don't watch enough prem football but when I do that's all he seems to do

Bowen does more for West Ham than Prowse in terms of influecing a game IMO

and Bowen doesn't make the cut either for me, as much as I like him

I’d pie Gallagher right off. Not having any of him. If it’s 3 defensive midfielders in the squad, for me it’s Rice, Mainoo and Wharton. Youve then got Trent in to mix too.

Gallagher will go and I think one of the others probably Wharton will miss. But he shouldn’t

Bowen is class great option for wide or up front. Proper aggressive too which is something the others lack.

Shame he's victim of Southgate's habit of only trying new players in weak sides meaning you'll not get the best out of them and they'll  get written off

I'd not be taking Traff, Dunk (generic bog average English centre half) or Gomez (can play lots of positions but not actually any good at any of them), Jones, Grealish, Madison (not good enough) then one of konsa/guhei

GK: Pickford // Henderson // Ramsdale

CB: Stones // Branthwaite // Gomez // Konsa // Maguire

FB: Trippier // Walker // Shaw // Alexander-Arnold

CM: Gallagher // Mainoo // Rice // Wharton

CAM: Bellingham // Palmer // Eze

W: Foden // Gordon // Saka // Bowen

ST: Kane // Toney // Watkins

.                       Kane

.      Gordon   Bellingham.  Foden

.                Rice Gallagher

Trippier Stones Branthwaite Walker

.                     Pickford

This would be my squad and lineup for the first game.

Hope Wharton goes and gets minutes, he’s a class DM. Rice has spent most of the season playing further forward. Mainoo similarly isn’t an outright DM. Gallagher works hard but not as composed as Wharton and again not an outright DM.

Also hope Trent AA gets some minutes either as a fullback or a playmaker.

Would love to squeeze Palmer in ahead of Gordon but wouldn’t be his natural position this season and he’s not getting in ahead of Jude. Saka also could be preferred to Foden but they’re both class so don’t really mind who gets it.

Maddison had a really good spell last season, but maybe still finding his way back following injury.

Doubt he'll go, buy who knows.

He's a great player, years gone by he's in the team easy. Unfortunately for him he's right in the mixer with some of the world's best.

Faro is only 40 mins away so I’m tempted to go, but we have guests and the missus wants me to barbie some durado. Tough one - evening out watching Sheehan and 10 others who don’t play for the whites paste Gibraltar or intact marriage?

I’m thinking option b at the moment, although TBF Gibraltar out up some stern resistance against Scotland the other day so it could be a good game.

£600 flights? Fuck that right off.

found a bargain for the potential semi if we win the group yesterday. £15 in to Eindhoven. Rude not too

Every flight to Germany is around 5-600

Was loads of tickets available earlier, just flights to expensive

To be honest aside from the Slovenia game I’ve swerved going directly in to Germany. Games in the NW area means there’s plenty of routes like Amsterdam / Brussels / Eindhoven which have remained relatively cheap then train across the border

Don't fly into Germany. Fly in to Brussels or the likes & train it in, if you have a match ticket you get cheaper rail anyway

Gordon ahead of saka is wild.

Saka is arguably one of the best right wingers in the world. Unless he's injured, he will start.
