Didn't we back out because he wanted us to sign his brother as well or something?

Bit before me but I think the story said we wanted his brother and he suggested we take Alan as well and we didn’t fancy it or summat

He almost Signed for us

Heard a tale about a night out in Southport where the young Hansen was stripped and tied to the pier by some Bolton "mates" who didn't tell him you never see the tide

He was lined up to sign for us, early in, I think, the 73/4 season. We'd played Partick Thistle in the Anglo-Scottish.

A fee was agreed but PT were still in the League Cup so we agreed to wait. Liverpool came in later & that was that.

Didn't the Board want Ian Greaves to cut the price by £2000 and Liverpool came in and beat us to it.

I remember was at the game v Partick in the Anglo Scottish. He was a class apart.

What I struggle with is that 10 years have elapsed since his last MOTD appearance. Where the Fuck did that decade go

And the two Anglo Scottish Cup matches against Patrick Thistle were played in September 1976. We lost 1-0 on aggregate.
