He knows me better than that, I hope with the 'old boy's name' comment he meant Joe Galvin, a great bloke who I ran with in the 70's and 80's, Keeley will never forget him, nobody who ever ran for Lei

  • Anyone feeling slightly emotionally unstable today probably should leave this till later, amazing stuff.

  • Perhaps mentioned, but there's a Cameroonian boxer (Cindy Ngamba) playing for the Refugee Olympic Team who resides in Bolton

A bit of a bizarre process.

Why bother having an intermediate "race" when winning it doesn't guarantee any progression?

May as well just jeep going against the clock.

Do you mean the First Round?

The second race.

The winning team doesn't necessarily go through. The fastest two overall.

Anyway, they've just done it again.

What a win!

The first race is qualifying to set a time, and to see who you'll race against in the first round. The faster the time, the greater the chance of being in the medal races....

I can see what you mean, but this process has been in place for years. Also used in the Worlds & Europeans...

Great start!!! We didn't even have a women's sprint team entered in 2026 & 2021. They weren't good enough to qualify....

Emma Finucane is going to be a Track Superstar, so much talent....

Laura Kenny is sensational

The female pundits for this Olympics are streets ahead of the football ones that get shoehorned into jobs

Hodgkinson is 9/1 SPOTY, wins that 800 I reckon she'll be a shoe in

The whole build up to the games, every broadcast during has all been geared up towards her, can't believe this was 9/1.

It's a certainty

She is.

Also, Paula Radcliffe is looking great these days, marathon running is a killer.

Oh aye, I understand that that's the process, it just seems a bit odd to me, different to swimming, track etc.

Hopefully the blokes will pull a surprise tomorrow, but the Dutch are so fast, you can't see anyone besting them. A silver would be excellent.

Come on KH.

She always has been: after races she would always be bubbly, warm and friendly. Still the same now.

Can see why Jason Kenny was attracted to her!

Only way the Dutch don't win is a mechanical.....

Yeah always been a favourite of mine her, and she talks proper sense as a pundit as well

I'm sure Balding was trying to innuendo her about hotel beds earlier 😂

That female discuss WR that's miles in front of where all these attempts are going was set in 1988!

Lost count of the number of times I've seen this Keely Hodgkinson montage now

Just looked on wiki, and she's been updated as a gold medalist already.

Some bugger with a finger on a key just waiting.

Set by an East German athlete

Brilliant from Keely, the pressure must've been immense

It looked a bit too close for comfort between 200m and 100m but then she got away

Amazing Keely 👏
