He knows me better than that, I hope with the 'old boy's name' comment he meant Joe Galvin, a great bloke who I ran with in the 70's and 80's, Keeley will never forget him, nobody who ever ran for Lei

  • Anyone feeling slightly emotionally unstable today probably should leave this till later, amazing stuff.

  • Perhaps mentioned, but there's a Cameroonian boxer (Cindy Ngamba) playing for the Refugee Olympic Team who resides in Bolton

A bit surprised to see him get the silver. He looked good as he came upon the shoulder of ingotbullshit, but that septic came from nowhere. Fair play to him.

So many near misses this Olympics

Aye, but a few the other way too.

Rowing, triathlon.

Reckon more to come in the velodrome, and really looking forward to the modern pentathlon which starts tomorrow.

Now the swimming has finished, I am hopeful that we can get past the Aussies in Golds. I have one neighbour shouts across every time he sees me "Still kicking your arses" etc.

No competition for overall medals but need some velodrome golds etc. over the last 4 days to shut the fucker up!

If we do, I'll get the union flag draped over the balcony rail and lob a trifle at him.

We don't agree on much but I really hope we beat them.

For me, that's too young.

11, you say?

The Dutch volleyball player & the Swiss triathlon coach will be interested.

Just saw Keely H get her gold medal. For most Olympians it’s the pinnacle and arguably it’s downhill from there. But she’s one of those that is absolutely made for life now isn’t she?

$50,000 per gold medal winner paid by the French  Olympic Comittee , plus individual countries bonuses like the Phillipino kid that won gold in the gymnastics was promised a house an 10 acres of land  (he won 2 golds) .

There was an officail complaint against a GB runner in the 60's by the IOC because GB had paid his bus fare to get to training thereby making him a professional.

Yep.

Already touched upon this earlier. Safeguarding?

The Dutch bloke didn't stay at the Olympic Village, but the concerns will still be there.

Fucking Frog caused him to fall into othe athletes and they all ended up sprawled on the track.

The afters weren't particularly edifying, but he's definitely a chip off the block! 🤣

Think there's only Hodgkinson who's won a gold that the BBC built up with a montage so far 😃
