Crowds

Not had a bit of crowd noncing for a bit ๐Ÿ˜‚

Might get @radcliffe whiteย backย

One thing that remains really impressive for us is our fan base.

Think weโ€™ll see it at our best tomorrow ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘

It's been quite remarkable really.

Over 20k gates (tickets sold) being the norm is insane.

ย

10 pager incoming๐Ÿ˜‚

Iโ€™ll cover a few

Our supporters are wankers

tickets are too cheap

average revenue per game per fan is ยฃ0.89

Real attendances are 8.5k

Hot dogs arenโ€™t buttered.

Itโ€™s all good. COYWM.

Not sure the numbers will be as high next season.ย

If we don't go up, then we will have to make a good fist of trying, and bring some players/positivity back

A containment thread for all things attendnoncery so the rest of us don't have to read it

Excellent work @desperado

(although I agree the rise in our attendances is, indeed, very encouraging and a thing to be celebrated)

I think they will.

As long as we have a strong enough second half of the season then I think even if we don't go up,ย  enthusiasm will be higher than it was at the start of this seasonย

That's what I said in the second sentence.ย

If there isn't a great deal of improvement, then the new found enthusiasm will wane.

Not east to get back quickly, and some will want to see what happens in the summer, rather than immediately renew.

Now IE has gone I'll be renewing and imo most will

If weโ€™d have stuck with Evatt I think we would have seen a drop. Donโ€™t think we will now.

Tomorrow will be a good indicator. Selling out the EFL trophy game at Wrexham was another impressive indicatorย

Surprised Blackpool increased their gates by that amount.ย

They were boycotting that season to get Oyston out...

They haven't really, the comparison will be with the time their fans were boycotting, they were getting 2 or 3k on which wasn't a reflection of their fanbase.

Itโ€™s also the season we were relegated and didnโ€™t even complete our fixtures - so a low comparator.

No doubt itโ€™s impressive though. When you compare to 16/17, which was our promotion season from L1 and before everyone really fell out with Ken, even then we only averaged 15,100 at home.

When you consider how shit itโ€™s been since (league position wise), the fact weโ€™ve added 6,000 fans is amazing.

Yeah, that's a much better comparison

Be careful, be very careful.

So easy to slip back into the 80s.

Only need to lose the play off target this season and wipe 5-6 K off the crowd. Season tix well down for next year and we're off to a bummer, seen it for years & years & its depressing.

This is our time!!!

Do an Oxford & we'll be reet for years to come.

Whoever's idea it was to reduce S/T prices, virtually give away kids S/Ts and have (4?) ยฃ10 games a season has to take a lot of the credit for the increase, whilst also making it difficult to compare like with like.

Having owners we like is a huge factor too, IE was starting to erode it by iffy behaviour and being allowed to outstay his welcome, but it feels like we may have just acted in time to uphold take up for next season, a few encouraging performances under SS would obviously help๐Ÿคžย ย

Itโ€™s the season before. 18/19 was our last ย in the Championship.ย

Think this is down to cheap season tickets, feel good factor of the resurgence over the last few years, the fact that in league 1 we are the favourites most games so have most of the play as well as the style of football under Evatt (apart from this season).

Seen a lot say that attendances will increase if/when we get to the championship. Dont agree with that. Maybe the first year or two but once weโ€™re settled in mid table with no much to play for it will become a bit stale. Becoming nigh on impossible to get promoted from the champ now competing against the relegated prem sides who not only have by far the best players but also the parachute payments over 3 years.

Luton & Ipswich disagree.

Further back Brentford & Bournemouth.ย

Yeah thatโ€™s true. I get a bit stuck on thinking about the likes of Blackburn and Preston who have done a lot right over the last few years but it still always feels way out of reach for them.ย

While I care little about attendances, thatโ€™s the fullest Iโ€™ve seen the place after 90 mins for a long, long timeย

Didn't get home till nearly 7pm.

I was in Bay Horse for 5:45 the last home game :D
