Only the most wealthy fans in the world will be at this world cup supporting their team. Doesnt scream fun to me.  If England get to the final, i'd genuinely rather be in england than at the game

  • If it wasn't for my lads I wouldn't want us anywhere near the premier league.

Is it me or has ITV gone for the usual WC big stage coverage and the BBC have shit themselves and gone for Temu comparable guests and staging so are not bothering with the expense?

Its like they know they are damned if they do and damned if they don't so have gone for what they hope doesn't attract too much criticism?

Yep. ITV funded by adverts. BBC funded by licence fee. BBC go big like ITV and you know they’ll get shit for “wasting the licence fee”. No win situation. They are there for the knockout stages so let’s see what they pull out of the bag

aye, I'm enjoying watching 4 lots of highlights each day, but haven't actually looked at a group table so not 100% sure what is going on in each group as they head into the final games

i have though enjoyed most the games and grounds, Toronto being my favourite

there'll also be a decent amount of knock out football which is when I'll either watch full games or go from 12 mins to 30 mins highlights

I watch all the highlights (only 9 mins on iPlayer) and watch the odd game live

Enjoying so far but couldn’t tell you who is close to the next stage, who is out, who needs a win, etc. Too many teams, too many groups are messing with my head but not criticising. Love seeing Iran, Ivory Coast, etc being a bit shit but going for it

Some of it isn't helped with huge chunks being overnight on UK time, what's it like there?

Knockouts will be where it really kicks in, another week before that though 😃

I've been waiting to see this Monterrey stadium with the mountain behind it, that was the first one I saw back when the bid was announced and it looked incredible! I do prefer the more traditional looking ones, these space age hyper arenas like SoFi and Atlanta are fantastic first time I see them but after a bit its like ah well meh, give me the gnarly stuff!

first game kicks off 2am, latest is 2pm

so only watched the England game live

think the other thing for me is as am just watching highlights I'm missing the studio discussions before / after regards the games and wider context

if was back home I'd be watching the first two games of the evening and all that goes with it

so right now for me it's just footy games involving teams from all over the world so feels as global as it gets but with no jeopardy

There is an argument its still better for UK viewers than here. You can still watch 2 games live. It gets better for the knockouts too.

People who work cant watch games live here, unless its a 5am 6am kick off.

Though if England win the group and rd of 32, the last 16 game is a 1am kick off for you lot.

You are correct. I am only one hour off UK time and it's been better than I would have had down under.

the Aussies got lucky with their first game being live on a Sunday afternoon

Gonna have to force myself to get into this competition. Can't let a world cup pass me by. Only managed to watch one full game so far and that was England
