It would also mean that if Taylor was in the centre two of the three would not be on the pitch.....No logic to that

Taylor is staying left back

Centre backs are two from Toal, Firino, Johnson, Forrester and Inwood

But it's very likely the other would be

I also think Taylor will be considered a left-back first and foremost

They might be a bit more solid with two sitting midfielders just ahead

No room for Sheehan then

Probably not

Not unless we're at home against one of the bottom feeders anyway

Sheehan will want to play games to keep his place in the  Wales squad......be gone in the next fortnight

I’d bet he’s with us til the end of the season. Plenty of space / opportunity for Sheehan in this team and we’d be weaker without him .

You may be right, and i may be way off.......Facts are his main system has him playing two holding midfielders

Yes he could cover both SImons and Erhahom or he could compete for the ten, but like another seven or eight who played most games last season he had better get used to the bench

Sheehan has flattered to deceive since he joined us. We'd not miss him and he reeks of Evatt

Toal and Johnston stinks of Evatt soft centre shite.

Thought we were ditching that.

I was very disappointed by this news.
Two mainstays of a weak of piss defence from last season.

I'd have had 11 debutants tomorrow if possible.

Evatt overloaded the squad with Inverted wingbacks, centre halfs and Number 10s

Schumacher hands are tied in the sense all these players are under contract, and to be blunt no fucker wants them.

I dont think our defence is as bad as some make it out, iy was the system. That has now been put to bed but it may take a window or two before he clears the deadwood

We are facing two shithouse CFs tomorrow and we need strong, quick lads to sort them. Any two of Toal, Forino or Johnston will do especially if we have two shithouses in front of them.

If we do, the battle will be out wide as Challinor will try to push back/stop our wingers and try to get at JDC and Conway.

We have to hope our 10 (McAtee?) and our new lad up top can outsmart their shithouse CBs and get through them.

Its going to be interesting but I can see it being a low scoring game unless one team cracks.

I fully get what both of you are saying and I hope this season is different, but both Toal & Johnston wilted under physical pressure last season. Nothing to do with systems or formations, they just didn't deal with the rough stuff well at all.

Don’t be misled - they have a very solid and experienced back line.

Maybe they'll play someone out of position, but they've lost 3 left backs since May, 2 gone and one long term injured.  So they aren't signing a 34 year old released by Cambridge on a 1 month deal because they're full of adequate left back options.

If that’s the case then why is Schu rumoured to be buying another Left Back? I agree Taylor may well play LB at times but I also expect him to move into the centre when needed. It’s good to have that flexibility when Conway can -lay more of a wingback role.

Flexibility.

There are systems SS could play against some teams where Taylor could step up into left midfield if he has a solid LB behind him and Conway is more of a raider.

Some games require a shithouse back line and a more shithouse midfield,

Just checked on the 11v11 site (fucking ace resource that) and we were still top on the 14th September. It was only the next day we fell to 2nd behind Arsenal.

Remember playing golf one Saturday afternoon and as we got into the bar for a post round pint the headline on Sky Sports was "Leaders held at Elland Road", found that hilarious at the time

I remember that day. Leeds had a tremendous team. We had won our first three games in (to put it mildly) unexpected style and I fully expected this to be when we finally found harsh realities of the Prem. In its way that 0-0 draw was as extraordinary as the previous three results.

We were the better team that day. Rio Ferdinand was absolutely imperious for them. Went to United a few weeks later.

Also seated behind the goals rather than the corner, or the side which was weird. Been to Elland Rd a few times and only once were we put behind the nets
